Why We Built a CRM Into Carly
Carly already manages your calendar, your emails, and your to-dos — it was only a matter of time before we added your contacts.
AI-Enabled From Day One
Carly’s CRM isn’t a traditional database with an AI chatbot bolted on top. It’s AI-native — meaning the intelligence isn’t a feature, it’s the foundation.
Contacts populate automatically. When someone emails you and Carly is on the thread, she adds them to your contacts with their name, email, and any context from the conversation. No manual entry.
Custom columns, powered by Skills. Add columns for whatever you’re tracking — deal stage, interview status, follow-up dates, funding round — and create a Skill that tells Carly when to update them. If an email mentions a funding round, Carly saves the details to the contact’s record. If a deal moves forward, Carly updates the pipeline stage. You define the rules in plain English, and Carly does the rest.
Natural language, not query builders. Ask Carly “who did I meet with last month about the Series A?” and get an answer. No filters to configure. No saved views to create. Just ask.

Works Alongside Your Existing CRM
We’re not trying to replace Salesforce or HubSpot. If your company runs on an enterprise CRM, keep using it. Carly’s CRM is a personal layer — a lightweight, fast contact manager that lives where you already work.
Getting started takes minutes. Export a CSV from your existing CRM and upload it to Carly — she supports up to 10,000 contacts. Your columns, tags, and notes come with it. Or just start using Carly and let contacts build up naturally from your email and scheduling activity.
Carly handles the personal side:
- Who you’ve met with recently and what you talked about
- Quick notes and context you’d otherwise forget
- Custom tracking for whatever matters to you — pipeline, hiring, partnerships, networking
- Instant lookup without switching tabs or logging into another tool
Your enterprise CRM gets the structured data it needs. Carly gives you the personal context it can’t.
Search That Actually Works
CRM search is notoriously bad. Most tools give you exact-match search across a handful of fields. If you can’t remember someone’s last name or which company they work for, good luck.
Carly searches the way you think. You can say:
- “Who’s the person I met at the conference in November?”
- “Find the founder who’s raising a Series B in healthcare”
- “Show me everyone I haven’t talked to in 3 months”
This isn’t keyword matching. Carly understands context, relationships, and time — so you find people by what you remember about them, not by filling in the right search box.
Analysis Without Dashboards
Most CRM analytics require you to build reports, configure dashboards, and learn a query language. We skipped all of that.
Want to know how your time is distributed across clients? Ask Carly. Want to see which deals have gone quiet? Ask Carly. Want a breakdown of who you’re meeting with most and whether that aligns with your priorities? Ask.
Carly already knows your calendar, your contacts, and your communication history. She connects the dots so you don’t have to pivot-table your way to an insight.
Skills That Keep Your CRM Updated
This is where Skills come in. Skills are custom instructions you give Carly — describe what she should do in a given situation, and she follows through.
Examples:
- “Track funding info” — When an email mentions round size, valuation, or investors, save the details to the contact’s CRM record.
- “Save meeting context” — When I tell you about a meeting, update the contact’s notes with what we discussed.
- “Tag by industry” — When I add a new contact, figure out their industry from their email domain and tag them accordingly.
Skills turn your CRM from a static database into a living system. You tell Carly the rules, and she applies them every time you interact with her.
Send Emails Directly From Your CRM
This is where things get powerful. Carly doesn’t just store contacts — she can reach out to them on your behalf.
See a contact you haven’t followed up with? Tell Carly to email them. She’ll draft a professional message, send it, and handle the entire back-and-forth until the task is complete. You don’t need to open Gmail, compose a message, or dig through old threads for context — Carly already knows who they are and what you’ve talked about.
A few ways people use this:
- “Email Jordan and find a time for coffee next week.” — Carly reaches out, proposes times based on your calendar, and books it when Jordan confirms.
- “Send Lisa a follow-up about the proposal we discussed.” — Carly pulls context from Lisa’s CRM record and drafts a personalized email referencing the deal.
- “Reach out to my investors group with an update on Q1 numbers.” — Carly drafts and sends individual emails to the whole group on your behalf.
Every email Carly sends is tracked in your Conversations tab, so you can see exactly what she said and how people responded — even though you’re not on the thread.
Pair this with Skills and your CRM columns, and the outreach gets smarter. A Skill that says “when I ask you to follow up with a contact, reference their deal stage and last meeting notes” means every email Carly sends is personalized with real context — not a generic template.
No mail merge. No drip campaign builder. Just tell Carly who to email and why, and she handles it like a human assistant would.
Following up on the Q2 integration proposal — wanted to check if you have any questions or would like to adjust the scope.
Would you have time to meet this week? I can find a time that works.
