How to Copy Events from One Google Calendar to Another

You switched jobs and want your old calendar events on your new one. Or you’ve got a personal calendar and a work calendar and need certain events on both. Or your team just migrated to a new shared calendar and nobody wants to recreate three months of recurring meetings by hand.

Whatever the reason, Google Calendar doesn’t give you a native way to copy events from one calendar to another. You can duplicate individual events one at a time — click, edit, change calendar, save, repeat — but if you’ve got more than a handful, that gets old fast.

There’s a faster way.

Copy Events Between Calendars in Three Clicks

Carly’s Advanced Settings page has a free Copy Events tool that does exactly what it sounds like. You pick a source calendar, pick a destination calendar, and hit copy. That’s it.

Here’s the full process:

  1. Go to dashboard.carlyassistant.com/advanced — sign in with your Google account if you haven’t already.
  2. Select your “From” calendar — this is the calendar you want to copy events from. The dropdown shows all Google Calendars connected to your account.
  3. Select your “To” calendar — this is where the events will land.
  4. Click Copy — Carly copies the events over.

No CSV exports. No ICS files. No installing a Chrome extension. No paying for a calendar syncing subscription.

When This Comes in Handy

Merging personal and work calendars. Maybe you keep a separate calendar for client dinners or networking events, but you want them visible on your main work calendar too. Copy them over so everything’s in one view.

Switching Google accounts. You got a new work email and need to bring your existing meetings along. Instead of forwarding calendar invites to yourself one by one, just copy the whole batch.

Onboarding onto a shared calendar. Your team set up a new shared project calendar and needs all the existing sprint planning sessions, standups, and deadlines moved over from the old one.

Backing up a calendar. Before you archive or delete a calendar, copy its events to another one so you don’t lose the history.

Managing multiple clients. If you’re a freelancer or consultant juggling separate calendars per client, you might want a unified view. Copy relevant events to your master calendar.

What You Need

Just a Google account with the calendars you want to copy between. Both the source and destination calendars need to be connected to Carly — when you sign in, your Google Calendars are automatically available in the dropdowns.

The tool is completely free. No trial, no credit card, no upgrade required. Go to dashboard.carlyassistant.com/advanced and you’re set.
