How I Use Carly to Run My Business

Hi, Sarah Hirschfield here, founder and CEO of Carly AI. I want to walk through how I actually use Carly every day to run my business — because having Carly on my team is like having the best assistant in the world.

Morning Email Triage Across Every Account

Every morning, I wake up to a pile of emails across multiple accounts. Instead of opening each inbox and sorting through everything myself, I ask Carly to go through all of them and surface two things: important emails I received overnight, and anything that needs a response from me.

She comes back with a clean summary and some suggestions about how we should respond.

It takes almost no back and forth. Carly has all the context about my business — she knows my customers, my team, my preferences. She’s learned over time how I like things handled and resolved. So most of the time, my morning email takes minutes, not an hour. It’s painless.

Going from Customer Email to GitHub PR

When a customer reaches out about a feature request or a bug, I don’t have to context-switch into a code editor. I just tell Carly: “Can you handle this?”

She reads the email, understands the issue, writes the code, and submits a pull request into GitHub. I go directly from a customer email to a PR ready for review. Later, I review it, merge it, and push it to production. What used to require sitting down at a computer and getting into a coding headspace now starts from a single email reply.

Checking on the Business from Anywhere

I’ve connected PostHog and Stripe to Carly, so I can just ask “how’s business?” and she knows exactly what that means: check recent signups in PostHog and whether money is flowing in on Stripe.

This matters more than it sounds. If I want to check my Stripe balance normally, I have to be on a computer — Stripe doesn’t have a mobile app, and I’m not signed in on my phone’s browser. But now I just email Carly and she pulls it up for me. I get my key metrics wherever I am, whenever I want them.

Building Presentations Without Opening a Single App

It’s not every day that I need to put together a presentation, but when I do, it used to mean blocking out a chunk of time to sit down with Google Slides. Now I just talk to Carly about what I think the presentation should cover, and she goes into my Google Slides and creates it. She sends me the PDF so I can review it on my phone, give her notes, and we iterate from there.

The same goes for any document or data I need to prepare for someone. The cycle is: tell Carly what I need, review what she sends back, give feedback, done.

What all of this adds up to is that I don’t have to open anything but email every single day. My inbox is my command center. I triage emails, ship code, check metrics, and build presentations — all through conversation with Carly.
