How to Export Your Ollie Data and Switch Assistants

Ollie’s last day is November 6, 2026, and it’s sending users an export of their data to pass to a new assistant. Moving takes about 20 minutes: save the export, connect a new assistant, hand it the export, and rebuild your routines.

The quick answer: Save the export as soon as Ollie sends it. Then set up Carly, connect your email and calendars, paste in the export, and text it your routines in plain English. Your refund for partial or unused months doesn’t need any action from you, according to Ollie’s letter.

Step 1: Save your Ollie export

Ollie’s farewell letter says: “Ollie will text you an export of your data that you can then share with another personal assistant you trust.” Its X account says you’ll get an email or text explaining how to export your data and how refunds work.

Ollie hasn’t published the format, so treat the export like any file that’s about to disappear:

  • Save it the moment you get it, in your notes app, Google Drive or OneDrive.
  • If it arrives as a link, open it and download what’s there. Links may stop working.
  • While Ollie is still running, ask it for anything the export missed, like your kids’ schools, teachers, allergies and regular pickups.

Step 2: Connect your new assistant

Your Ollie connections don’t carry over, because each assistant gets its own permission from Google or Microsoft. In Carly:

  1. Sign up at carlyassistant.com.
  2. Connect all of your Gmail and Outlook accounts and calendars on the integrations page. Do the work and personal ones too, so one text covers everything.
  3. Add your phone number in Settings. You’ll get a confirmation text, and then you can text Carly anytime.

Step 3: Give Carly your Ollie export

Paste the export into Carly on the web, or email it to Carly’s address if it came as a file. Then tell it what to do:

Here’s my export from my old assistant. Remember the kids’ names and schools, allergies, regular pickups, who’s who, and how I like things done. Tell me anything you’re unsure about.

Carly saves those details to its memory and uses them in everything it does next. Skim what it saved. Old reminders and last year’s soccer schedule don’t need to come along.

Step 4: Rebuild your Ollie routines in Carly

This is where you pick up more than you had. Each routine you relied on becomes a rule you describe once, and Carly follows it the same way every time. Text these as they are, or edit them to fit your family.

What Ollie didWhat to tell Carly
School email alerts”When an email arrives from the school or the PTA, text me a two-line summary and add any dates to the family calendar.”
Daily briefing”Every weekday at 7am, text me today’s calendar across all my accounts and anything that needs a reply.”
Reminders”Remind me Thursday at 4 to sign Claire’s permission slip.”
To-do lists”Add ‘buy a birthday gift’ to my Google Tasks.”
Inbox triage”Label everything from the school, the coach and the pediatrician as Family, and keep it out of Promotions.”
Calendar changes”Soccer moved to Thursday at 5:30. Fix the calendar and tell Josh by email.”
Meal planning”Every Sunday at 5, text me five dinners that fit this week’s calendar, then the grocery list by aisle.”

Anything Carly should do on its own becomes a workflow that starts when an email arrives, a calendar changes or a set time hits. Want a check before anything goes out? Say “show me the draft first” and it will.

For groceries, the list comes to you by text, ready to paste into Instacart or Walmart. If you used Ollie to bring your partner in, CC Carly on the family email thread, and it will email your partner what changed.

Step 5: Run both until November 6

Keep Ollie running for a few days next to Carly. Compare what each one catches, then tighten the rules. “Also flag anything from the after-school program” is all it takes. Everything you add now is one less thing you’ll notice missing on November 7.

If you’re in a family group chat with Ollie, tell everyone the thread is ending and where to send things now.

Step 6: Remove Ollie’s access and check your refund

Ollie connected to your accounts through OAuth, so it never had your password, but the permission stays on your account until you remove it.

  • Google: go to myaccount.google.com/connections and remove Ollie.
  • Microsoft: open your Microsoft account’s privacy settings, find the apps with access to your data, and remove Ollie.

Refunds: the letter says “billing will be canceled and you will receive a refund for any partial or unused months,” for both Ollie and Ollie for Meals. If it doesn’t arrive, email hello@ollie.ai.

Why Carly is the best place to move your Ollie data

  • It works the way you already do. Text it, with no app to install.
  • It’s reliable. Your rules run the same way every time, so the 7am briefing comes at 7am.
  • It’s endlessly customizable. If you can describe a rule, Carly can follow it.
  • It covers home and work. All of your Gmail and Outlook accounts and calendars work in one place, and Carly connects to thousands of apps.
  • Your data stays yours. Carly’s privacy notice says customer data is not used to train AI models.

See what people say

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
