A feed card quietly muting as a follow toggle softens to off

How to Unfollow on LinkedIn (2026)

Unfollowing quietly removes someone’s posts from your feed without disconnecting — they’re never notified. It’s the cleanest way to declutter your feed while keeping your network intact. Here’s how.

1. Unfollow a Person (Keep the Connection)

  1. Go to the person’s profile.
  2. Click the More () button next to Message.
  3. Select Unfollow.

You stay 1st-degree connected — you just won’t see their posts. They aren’t notified.

You can also unfollow straight from your feed: click the in the top-right of any post and choose Unfollow [name].

2. Unfollow a Company Page

  1. Open the company page.
  2. Click Following (the button toggles) or the menu.
  3. Choose Unfollow.

3. Unfollow a Hashtag

  1. Click More in the left sidebar of your homepage to see followed hashtags, or open the hashtag page.
  2. Click Following > Unfollow.

4. Manage Everyone You Follow in One Place

To bulk-clean your feed:

  1. Go to Settings & Privacy isn’t needed — instead open me icon path: from your homepage left rail, click your follow counts, or visit your profile and the Followers / Following manager.
  2. Use the Following tab to unfollow people and pages one tap at a time.

This is the fastest way to prune a feed that’s drifted off-topic.

5. Unfollow vs. Disconnect vs. Block

  • Unfollow: stay connected, hide their posts. Silent.
  • Remove connection: drop the 1st-degree link (re-request needed to reconnect). Silent.
  • Block: they can’t view your profile or message you. Use for harassment.

6. Troubleshooting

I unfollowed but still see their posts

Reshares and comments from your network can resurface a post. You’ll also still see their content if you follow a hashtag they use heavily.

There’s no Unfollow option

You may already be unfollowed (the button shows Follow), or you’re viewing a 2nd/3rd-degree profile where you only have Follow/Connect.

Did they get notified?

No. Unfollowing and removing connections are both private actions.

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
