- Wild Card Series — Best-of-three series in early October between the lower-seeded division winners and Wild Card teams.
- Division Series & Championship Series — Best-of-five Division Series followed by best-of-seven League Championship Series in the AL and NL.
- World Series — Best-of-seven championship between the AL and NL pennant winners, played in late October and early November.
