Loman AI: What It Does, Pricing and Alternatives (2026)

Loman is an Austin startup that answers restaurant phones with AI. It’s built around the phone order: pickup and delivery orders with all the modifiers, card payment on the call, and a clean ticket sent straight to your point-of-sale system.

The quick answer: Loman suits takeout-heavy restaurants, pizza shops above all, that want phone orders entered into the POS without pulling anyone off the line. Pricing is by quote, and Loman’s team does the setup in about a day. Full-service restaurants whose calls are mostly reservations may find a reservations-first tool like Slang AI a closer fit.

What Loman does on a call

Loman answers every call, including several at once, so nobody gets put on hold during the dinner rush. On a call it can:

  • Take pickup and delivery orders with modifiers and send the ticket to your POS.
  • Take card payments over the phone for those orders.
  • Book reservations in your reservation system.
  • Answer questions about the menu, allergens, hours, directions, wait times and order status.
  • Upsell add-ons and popular combos, and recognize repeat callers.
  • Hand off to a person by transferring the call, taking a voicemail with a transcript, or messaging your team with the caller’s details.

Everything shows up in a dashboard with live calls, transcripts, orders and revenue by location. Multi-unit groups can run one shared menu with per-store overrides, local numbers and store-specific hours.

Loman’s two plans

Loman doesn’t publish prices. Its pricing page lists two plans and asks you to request a quote:

  • Starter covers answering: questions, outbound texts, call transfers, automatic menu updates and up to 50 calls at once.
  • Premium adds the revenue side: takeout and delivery ordering, phone reservations, full POS integration, payment over the phone, guest memory, an upsell engine and out-of-stock menu updates.

Loman sells this as a flat software fee rather than per-minute billing, which makes a busy Friday cost the same as a slow Tuesday. Larger groups can ask about enterprise plans and custom integrations.

Where Loman is strongest

Loman’s own funding announcement says it gained “particular traction in the pizza category, where high phone volume makes call handling critical,” and that it had taken millions of calls and processed tens of millions of dollars in orders in its first year. The customer list on its site leans the same way: Rose City Pizza, Big Apple Pizza & Pasta, Vittorio’s Pizza, Crust Pizza.

That focus matters. A pizza order is a hard call for a voice agent: half-and-half toppings, crust changes, coupons, delivery zones. A tool trained on millions of those calls and wired into the POS has a real advantage over a general AI receptionist that can only take a message or text a link.

Loman says customers see up to 22% more revenue from recaptured calls and upsells and up to 17% lower labor costs. Those are Loman’s own figures, not independent measurements.

What to check before you sign

  • The price, in writing. Ask for the monthly cost per location, any setup fee, and the contract length and exit terms.
  • Your POS, specifically. Square, Toast, SpotOn and Clover are named integrations. Confirm that modifiers, payments and order timing all flow through on yours.
  • Your hardest orders. Loman claims 99.6% order accuracy. Run test calls with your most complicated orders, a noisy background and a caller who changes their mind halfway through.
  • References in your format. Loman has no Trustpilot reviews yet. Ask for two or three operators who look like you.
  • A crowded field. Restaurant Business reported in August 2025 that restaurant voice AI “is getting crowded,” with Loman and Vox AI raising seed rounds the same week, alongside established players like Presto, Hi Auto, ConverseNow and SoundHound. Ask about the roadmap and what happens to your setup if you leave.

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
