Abby Connect: Pricing, Review, and Alternatives (2026)

Abby Connect has answered phones for small businesses for more than 20 years from its Las Vegas headquarters. Its pitch now is choice: a human receptionist, an AI one, or both on the same call.

The catch is that both are still billed by the minute.

The quick answer: Abby Connect is a virtual receptionist service that sells human answering, AI answering or a mix from one plan. Plans are $164 a month for 50 Abby Minutes, $329 for 100, $599 for 200 and $1,380 for 500. A human minute uses one Abby Minute and an AI minute uses half, so AI stretches a plan twice as far. If you want AI answering plus outbound lead calls, texting and a team inbox on one line, Carly answers when your team can’t, books on your real calendars and hands callers to your people when they ask. Copy one prompt into ChatGPT or Claude, grab a number, and you’re live.

What Abby Connect does well

  • Human and AI from one vendor. Start with people, move routine calls to AI, keep people for the rest.
  • A dedicated team. Abby says a small US-based team learns your business, rather than a rotating pool.
  • Self-serve controls. Change call handling in the portal or AbbyGO app without waiting on support.
  • No weekend upcharge and no setup fee.
  • White-glove onboarding and a custom integration consultation on every plan.

What to weigh

  • AI is still metered. Even at half rate, AI answering costs $1.38 to $1.65 a minute.
  • HIPAA options cover human answering only, per Abby’s feature list.
  • It’s an answering service. Abby’s plans are built around taking calls; callbacks happen in the AbbyGO app by your team.

1. Carly

Carly is AI answering for teams that want the phone to produce booked appointments, not just messages. It follows your rules exactly, on every call.

  • Answers 24/7, or only when your team doesn’t pick up. Spanish callers get Spanish.
  • Books on your calendars during the call, round robin across your team’s Google and Outlook calendars.
  • Hands off to people through ring groups or a phone menu, your own human backstop.
  • Calls new web leads within about a minute, then texts and emails if they miss it (AI outbound calling).
  • Texts from your business number: two-way texts, reminders, group texts and a text back on every missed call.
  • One team inbox and CRM. Every call, transcript, voicemail, text and email on one timeline, written back to HubSpot, Salesforce, Dynamics 365 or Carly’s own CRM.
  • Runs from ChatGPT or Claude with the Carly connector: build the agent, place calls, send texts and steer a live call from a chat (see how).

Carly connects to thousands of apps, and calls trigger free Zapier-style workflows.

See what people say

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
