ChatGPT + BoldTrail (kvCORE): No App, and the Way In
ChatGPT has no BoldTrail app. Your contacts, smart lists and lead flow sit in BoldTrail, the platform that used to be called kvCORE, and ChatGPT cannot see any of it. Add Carly to ChatGPT once and BoldTrail comes with it, in the same chat as your mail and calendar.
Where BoldTrail sits against ChatGPT’s plugin directory
Open Plugins in ChatGPT and search for BoldTrail. There is no entry, and no leftover kvCORE entry from the old name either. Inside Real Estate has not published one.
ChatGPT will also take a server address you supply yourself, which is how apps that have built for it get in without being listed. BoldTrail publishes no address to paste, so this is not a listing problem you can route around by typing a URL.
That gap lands on the part of the day that pays. ChatGPT can read the portal inquiry sitting in your inbox. It cannot tell you whether that name is already in your database, which agent owns it, what the last text said, or whether anyone has picked up the phone yet. You read the answer in one window and retype it into another.
What Inside Real Estate has actually shipped on MCP
This is worth getting right, because the headlines in August made it sound closer than it is.
On 11 August 2026, Inside Real Estate announced ComplianceAI, a compliance review capability built with SetWave, and alongside it “the upcoming launch of BackOffice MCP.” The release describes early access for MCP capabilities and names Claude and ChatGPT as the assistants it is meant for. Read the release closely and two things stand out. It is BackOffice, the brokerage transaction and compliance side, not the Front Office CRM where your leads and smart lists live. And it is early access with a coming-soon framing, not a server anyone can point a chat client at today.
The other half of the story is Streams Studio, announced on 29 July 2026 as an open, MCP-native platform for building workflows across a brokerage’s existing stack. That one is explicit about availability: an invite-only cohort of teams and brokerages.
You can check the plumbing yourself. Ask for mcp.boldtrail.com and you get bounced to the marketing site, which is exactly what any invented subdomain on that host does. Ask the API gateway for an /mcp path and it returns the same missing-token error it returns for a path that does not exist. A press release naming MCP is not a shipped server, and right now nobody is sitting in ChatGPT talking to their BoldTrail pipeline through one.
Add BoldTrail to ChatGPT through Carly
- In BoldTrail, go to Lead Engine → Lead Dropbox, scroll to the My API Tokens box, tick the scope you need and click Generate. Pick All if you want the token to reach the full V2 API rather than just contacts or your user profile. Then paste it into Carly on the integrations page.
- Open Carly in ChatGPT’s plugin directory and click Connect. Nothing to paste, no custom plugin to build.
- Ask ChatGPT about BoldTrail. The Carly plugin answers with your live database.
Two things are worth knowing before you generate one. BoldTrail gives you three tokens at a time, and each expires a year from the day it was made, so put a reminder on the calendar rather than finding out when a workflow goes quiet. Deleting a token frees the slot but leaves the token working, which is awkward if you thought you had revoked something.
What ChatGPT can do with BoldTrail once Carly is in

BoldTrail’s own AI is not a ChatGPT integration
BoldTrail sells plenty of AI under its own roof, and it is easy to read as an integration. Smart Assistant drafts text and email replies to leads and pulls live MLS data into them through merge tags, and BoldTrail pitches it squarely at speed to lead. The Streams mobile app, launched in March 2026, puts an urgent tab in front of agents for new leads, missed calls and showing requests, with a hands-free assistant that logs notes and sets reminders by voice. AI Search is the conversational home search on the consumer side.
All of it works, and all of it runs inside BoldTrail. None of it connects to your ChatGPT account, reads your inbox, or answers you in a ChatGPT window. “BoldTrail has AI” and “BoldTrail works with ChatGPT” are two different sentences.
The BoldTrail work that happens after the chat closes
A plugin answers when you ask. Nothing in ChatGPT watches BoldTrail.
ChatGPT added event triggers for Gmail, Slack and GitHub, and the plumbing underneath is turning out to be the hard part. An open thread on OpenAI's own developer forum documents Gmail and Drive showing as authorized in Settings while conversations report them unavailable at runtime, logged on 28 August and 1 September 2026 with no public fix. Claude's Cowork tasks do not fire on events at all. Carly watches thousands of apps and names the account it acted on.

What people report going wrong with ChatGPT’s plugins
Two dated public reports are worth reading before you put your client database behind one. A thread opened on OpenAI’s developer forum on 19 December 2025 describes custom connections being invisible inside ChatGPT Projects, and, outside Projects, dying after three to five tool calls with a list_resources returns only {finite: true} error. Around twenty replies followed, several confirming the Projects behaviour.
Separately, a thread opened on 25 August 2026 documents a connection that succeeds on its first call in a conversation and then vanishes from the picker, with no second request ever reaching the server. The reporter saw it in both the Chrome web client and the desktop app.
Neither is BoldTrail’s fault, and neither is a reason to skip plugins. Both are reasons not to build your lead response on a chat window.
