Claude + MyCase: What the Integration Can (and Can't) Do in 2026

No — there’s no official Claude MyCase connector. MyCase isn’t one of Claude’s official connectors. When Anthropic went all-in on legal in May 2026 — shipping 20-plus legal connectors for iManage, NetDocuments, DocuSign, Relativity, CoCounsel and more — MyCase wasn’t on the list (neither was Clio). What exists on the Claude side is a small third-party community connector (around 3 GitHub stars). And the thing that makes MyCase harder than a horizontal CRM: its API is approval-gated and locked to the top plan tier.

Here’s what’s actually available, the gate, the limits, and what to use if you want MyCase work that runs on its own.

The gate: support approval, the Advanced tier, and no direct support

MyCase launched a public API in November 2023, documented at mycaseapi.stoplight.io. But getting Claude to real firm data isn’t a paste-your-key affair — three things stand in the way:

  • Approval, not self-serve. Per MyCase’s own help doc, you “contact MyCase support to start the process of gaining access to the API.” There’s no button to generate a key yourself.
  • Top-tier only. The API is available exclusively on MyCase’s Advanced plan — the highest tier. A firm on Basic or Pro can’t reach it at all.
  • No hand-holding. MyCase says it doesn’t directly support API builds and steers firms to Certified Consultants, so you’re building (or hiring) against the docs.

So a “connect Claude to MyCase in five minutes” claim doesn’t survive contact with the gate. Real data sits behind a plan upgrade and a support-approval process.

What MyCase ships — and what it doesn’t

The API covers the practice-management core — cases, contacts, leads, events, and billing. That’s a real surface for an outside assistant, once you’re past approval.

What you won’t find is anything Claude-native. MyCase’s AI story is its own MyCase IQ (now branded 8am IQ), which does document summarization and AI text editing inside MyCase. Worth knowing: MyCase IQ runs on OpenAI’s models, not Claude — and it’s an in-product feature, so it doesn’t connect to your Claude account or reach the rest of your stack.

How you’d actually connect Claude to MyCase today

No first-party path exists, so the options are unofficial or middleware-based:

  1. A community connectoroktopeak/mycase-mcp (“connect Claude to your MyCase system,” ~3 stars) is real but low-traction, and it still needs your API credentials and Advanced-tier approval to touch live data.
  2. Your own connector — have someone technical build and run a small connector against the API once you’re approved. (That connector is what “MCP” refers to when you see it — MCP is just the standard those connectors are built on.)
  3. A middleware bridge — MyCase has an official Zapier integration (since July 2023, with case/lead/contact triggers and actions) and a Make module. You can wrap either into a connector Claude can use.

Adding a custom connector on claude.ai needs a paid Claude plan.

The limits that actually matter

Even past the gate, the shape is “an assistant you operate,” not “an agent that runs.” Three limits define it:

  • No triggers, no monitoring. MyCase can fire a Zapier event on a new lead or matter, but Claude only runs inside a conversation you start — there’s nothing to catch that event and act. No “when a new intake comes in, open the matter and email the client.” You have to be in the chat, prompting.
  • Conversation-only. Claude pulls a matter or looks up a contact when you ask; it doesn’t sit on your account watching intake and following up. Close the chat and nothing continues.
  • A timer, not a trigger. Claude’s scheduled tasks fire on a fixed clock you set, not when a new lead or matter comes in. That’s not an always-on intake agent.

And on email: Claude’s built-in email (both Gmail and Outlook) only drafts, it doesn’t send — you still hit send yourself, and only from inside the chat. So Claude is good for “summarize the notes on the Ramirez matter” and not built for “open a matter and send the engagement letter every time a qualified lead comes in.”

If you want MyCase work that runs on its own: Carly

The moment you want something to happen around MyCase without you in the chat — email a new lead the instant they inquire, log time on the right matter after a call, send a Monday matter-status digest — you’ve crossed past what Claude is for.

That’s where Carly fits — an AI executive assistant built to act on triggers. A custom Claude connector still needs your firm on MyCase’s Advanced tier with API access approved by support before it can touch a single matter (and MyCase’s own MyCase IQ runs on OpenAI, not Claude, and stays inside MyCase). Carly runs that same approved key once it’s on — and works the email-and-calendar intake seams in the meantime:

  • When a new lead comes in, Carly opens the matter, drafts the engagement email, and sends it.
  • When a matter’s status changes, Carly emails the client the update and logs the note.
  • When an invoice is sent but goes unpaid, Carly drafts and sends the payment reminder on your schedule.
  • Every Monday, the week’s active matters and upcoming deadlines roll up into one status digest for the partners.

Carly reaches MyCase via your own API key once it’s enabled, or through Gmail, Outlook, and your calendar meanwhile, and drafts and sends email across both inboxes. AI agents start at $35/month, and steps in a workflow that don’t use AI run free and unlimited.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Claude work with MyCase?

Not officially. There’s no Claude MyCase connector. You can connect them through a small community connector (oktopeak/mycase-mcp) or your own build against MyCase’s API — but that’s unofficial, the API requires MyCase’s support approval and the Advanced plan tier, and either way it only works inside a conversation you start.

How do I get access to the MyCase API?

You request it from MyCase support — it’s not self-serve — and your firm has to be on the Advanced plan. MyCase also doesn’t directly support API builds, so plan on a developer or Certified Consultant.

Isn’t MyCase IQ a Claude integration?

No. MyCase IQ (now 8am IQ) is MyCase’s own in-product AI, and it runs on OpenAI’s models, not Claude. It works inside MyCase and doesn’t connect to your Claude account or the rest of your stack.

What if I want MyCase to act on its own — welcome new leads, log time?

That’s outside what Claude does; it responds inside a chat and doesn’t act on events. Carly fires on MyCase events and schedules 24/7 in the cloud and can email leads, log time, update matters, and send digests. AI agents start at $35/month.

See what people say

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
