Evite Pricing 2026: Is Evite Free? What Premium Costs
Evite is free if you use a free design and leave it alone. The moment you add an envelope, remove the ads, or upload your own artwork, the event becomes Premium and you pay by the size of your guest list.
The quick answer: free Evite invitations cover up to 750 guests and show ads. Premium is a one-time charge per event: $17.99 for up to 12 guests, $36.99 for up to 30, $68.99 for up to 75, and $99.99 for up to 750. Evite Pro is $249.99 a year for up to 2,500 guests per invitation. If you’d rather skip the upsell steps and have a guest list that sends its own reminders, try CarlyEvents, which is free to start.
Prices and limits below are from Evite’s own help center, read October 11, 2026.
Is Evite free?
Yes, with conditions. Designs labeled Free cost nothing to send, and a free invitation includes:
- Customizable designs
- Read receipts (for guests invited by email or text, not by shareable link)
- A shareable link
- Up to 750 guests per invitation
- RSVP tracking, messages to guests, and an automatic reminder
What you give up is the look. Free invitations carry ads, gift suggestions, and none of the envelope-and-stamp presentation Evite is known for.
What turns a free Evite into a paid one
Adding any of these to a free design triggers the Premium charge. Evite shows a crown icon at the top of the screen once it has happened:
- An envelope or stamp
- A sticker
- A background
- Ad removal
- Text on the back of the invitation
- Removing the gift suggestions
Designs labeled Premium always cost money, and so does uploading your own design (JPG or PNG only, with every word baked into the image).
Evite Premium packages
Each package covers one event. You can’t move it to a different invitation later.
| Package | Guests | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Silver | Up to 12 | $17.99 |
| Gold | Up to 30 | $36.99 |
| Platinum | Up to 75 | $68.99 |
| Diamond | Up to 750 | $99.99 |
| Evite Pro (yearly) | Up to 2,500 per invitation | $249.99 a year |
Premium adds no ads, animated effects and reveals, exclusive designs, envelopes, stamps and stickers, a host photo gallery, the option to remove gift guides, and double-sided invitations.
What a real event costs on Evite
- A 20-kid birthday party, free design, ads are fine: $0.
- The same party with an envelope and no ads: Gold, $36.99. Twenty guests doesn’t fit in Silver’s 12.
- A 45-person dinner where you want it to look nice: Platinum, $68.99. Gold stops at 30.
- A 150-guest wedding: Diamond, $99.99. It is the same price for 76 guests as for 750, so it gets cheaper per head the bigger the list.
- Three or more big events a year: Evite Pro at $249.99 starts to beat buying Diamond each time.
- A recurring event like a book club or run club: CarlyEvents lets you duplicate last time’s event and keep the guest list, instead of paying per invitation.
The steps are the catch. A guest list of 31 costs nearly twice what a list of 30 does, because it falls into the next package.
How Evite compares on price
Paperless Post charges per guest instead of per event, so it tends to be cheaper for small lists and close to Evite once you want its Premium designs. At 30 guests, for example, Paperless Post’s Basic bundle is $19.20 and its Premium bundle $36.00, against Evite’s $36.99. The full breakdown at four guest counts is in Evite vs Paperless Post, and the coin math is in Paperless Post pricing.
Things to know before you pay
- Text invitations are US and Canada only. They come from Evite’s short code, and each guest needs a name attached to the number.
- Reminder wording is fixed. Evite schedules one reminder two days before the event (or your RSVP deadline) and lets you set up to five. To say anything custom, send a separate message.
- Spreadsheet imports are strict. Names in column A, email in B, phone in C, no headers, nothing else in the file.
- There is no print option. Every Evite invitation is digital.
An option that runs the guest list for you
CarlyEvents is free to start and is built for the part that comes after the invitation goes out. Pick from 48 occasions with 11 designs each, or upload your own HTML. Then:
- Collect RSVPs with plus-ones, custom questions, and a waitlist when you hit capacity
- Group households and tag guests so couples and families stay together on the list
- Schedule reminders that go only to the people who haven’t answered
- See delivery and opens next to each name, and check people in from your phone at the door
Guests never need an app or an account. They click the link or just reply to the invitation in their own words.
It also works from Claude and ChatGPT over MCP, so you can say “set up Saturday’s dinner, invite the same people as last time, and remind anyone who hasn’t replied by Thursday” and review it before anything goes out. Here is how to set that up with Claude.
Common questions
How much is Evite Premium? $17.99 for up to 12 guests, $36.99 for up to 30, $68.99 for up to 75, and $99.99 for up to 750, per event.
Is Evite Pro worth it? It’s $249.99 a year, so it pays off if you would otherwise buy about three Diamond packages, or if you need more than 750 guests on one invitation.
Why did my free Evite start charging me? You added one of the six upgrades (envelope or stamp, sticker, background, ad removal, back-side text, or removing gift suggestions). Take it off and the design goes back to free.
Does Evite charge guests? No. Guests open and answer invitations for free.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Evite Premium? CarlyEvents is free to start, with every design, RSVPs, questions, reminders, and check-in included. For more options, see Evite alternatives.
