How to Convert PowerPoint to Video (2026)
Exporting a deck to video bakes every slide, transition, animation, and recorded narration into a single MP4 that plays anywhere — no PowerPoint required. The two choices that shape the output are resolution and whether to use your recorded timings or a fixed seconds-per-slide. Here’s the full export.
1. Export to Video (Windows)
- File > Export > Create a Video.
- Pick a resolution from the first dropdown (see section 3).
- In the second dropdown, choose Use Recorded Timings and Narrations or Don’t Use Recorded Timings and Narrations.
- Click Create Video and save as .mp4.
A progress bar runs along the bottom — long decks can take several minutes.
2. Export to Video (Mac)
- File > Export.
- Set File Format to MP4 (or MOV).
- Choose a Quality and whether to use recorded timings.
- Click Export.
3. Choose a Resolution
- Ultra HD (4K) — large screens, biggest file (Windows only on supported hardware).
- Full HD (1080p) — the standard choice for sharing.
- HD (720p) — smaller file, good for email and web.
- Standard (480p) — smallest, lowest quality.
Full HD (1080p) suits most uses.
4. Set Time Per Slide (No Recorded Timings)
If you choose Don’t Use Recorded Timings, set Seconds spent on each slide in the dialog. Every slide plays for that fixed duration — useful when you haven’t recorded narration.
5. Keep Narration and Webcam
If you recorded the show (see related guide), pick Use Recorded Timings and Narrations so your voice, webcam bubble, and per-slide pacing carry into the video.
6. Troubleshooting
The video skips my narration
You selected Don’t Use Recorded Timings. Re-export with Use Recorded Timings and Narrations.
Export is stuck or very slow
4K with media is heavy. Drop to 720p, or compress embedded media first via File > Info > Compress Media.
Animations look wrong in the video
Some complex triggers don’t render. Simplify or re-time them, then export again.

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
