How to Download Your LinkedIn Resume (2026)
LinkedIn can turn your profile into a PDF resume instantly — no copy-pasting. Here’s the fast way, plus the Resume Builder for a more tailored version.
1. Save Your Profile as a PDF (Fastest)
- Go to your own profile.
- Click the More button (just under your headline, next to Add profile section).
- Select Save to PDF.
- The file downloads automatically, formatted as a resume from your profile sections.
This pulls your headline, experience, education, skills, and certifications into a clean one-to-two-page layout.
2. Use the Resume Builder (Tailored Version)
If you have LinkedIn Premium, the Resume Builder lets you tailor a resume to a specific role:
- Open the Jobs tab, or search “Resume Builder” in LinkedIn Help to reach the tool.
- Click Create from profile and add a target job title.
- Edit sections inline, then Download as PDF.
The builder lets you trim and reorder without changing your live profile.
3. Download Someone Else’s Profile as PDF
On a 1st-degree connection’s profile, the More menu may offer Save to PDF as well — handy for sharing a candidate’s profile offline.
4. Clean Up the Formatting
The auto-PDF mirrors your profile, so the fastest way to improve the resume is to improve the profile:
- Tighten your headline and About — they appear at the top.
- Make sure each role has a concise description with results.
- Remove stale or empty sections so they don’t create blank space.
5. Troubleshooting
Save to PDF is missing
You’re likely on someone else’s profile or the mobile app. Use desktop on your own profile; the option lives under More.
The PDF is several pages long
Trim verbose role descriptions and older positions on your profile, then re-export — the PDF length tracks your content.
Formatting looks plain
The native export is intentionally minimal. For design control, use the Resume Builder or paste the content into a dedicated resume template.

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
