How to Add the Featured Section on LinkedIn (2026)
The Featured section is the showcase strip near the top of your LinkedIn profile. It’s where you pin your best post, a link to your work, a case study PDF, or media you want every visitor to see first. Here’s how to switch it on and curate it.
1. Add the Featured Section (Desktop)
- Go to your profile and click Add profile section (just under your headline).
- Expand Recommended and click Add featured.
- In the Featured panel, click the + in the top-right.
- Choose what to feature: Post, Link, Media (image, document, or PDF), or Newsletter.
- Select the item and click Save. The section now appears on your profile.
Once Featured exists, you’ll edit it with the pencil icon instead of re-adding it.
2. Feature an Existing Post
You don’t have to go through the profile editor to feature a post you already published:
- Open the post on your feed or profile.
- Click the ⋯ menu in the top-right of the post.
- Choose Feature on top of profile.
To remove it later, open the same menu and select Remove from features.
3. Add Featured on Mobile
- Tap your profile photo, then View Profile.
- Tap the pencil/edit controls or scroll to Add section > Recommended > Add featured.
- Tap +, choose a post, link, or media, and save.
4. Reorder or Remove Featured Items
- Open the Featured section and click the pencil icon.
- Drag items to reorder, or click the pencil on an individual item to remove it.
- Aim for two to four strong items — a cluttered Featured row dilutes the effect.
5. Troubleshooting
I don’t see “Add featured”
You may already have the section. Scroll down your profile to find Featured, then edit it directly. It also won’t appear under Add profile section if it’s already live.
The Link preview looks broken
LinkedIn pulls the link’s Open Graph image and title. If the preview is blank, the destination page is missing OG tags — feature it as Media with a custom image instead.
Featured isn’t showing to visitors
Make sure your profile visibility is public, and that you saved (not just previewed) the item.

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
