How to Endorse Someone on LinkedIn (2026)
An endorsement is a one-click vouch for a connection’s skill. It’s a quick way to support people in your network and strengthen their profiles. Here’s how to endorse skills, do it from notifications, and manage endorsements either way.
1. Endorse Someone’s Skills (Desktop)
- Go to the person’s profile.
- Scroll to the Skills section.
- Find a skill you can vouch for and click the + Endorse button (a plus icon) next to it.
- Repeat for any other skills. Each endorsement is recorded immediately.
You can only endorse 1st-degree connections, and you should genuinely know their work in that area.
2. Endorse Skills (Mobile)
- Open the person’s profile in the app.
- Tap into the Skills section.
- Tap the + next to each skill you want to endorse.
3. Endorse From a Prompt
LinkedIn sometimes shows an “Endorse your connections” card on your feed or in notifications, listing skills for people you know. Click the + beside any skill there to endorse without visiting the profile.
4. Remove or Manage Endorsements
An endorsement you gave:
- Go to the person’s profile and open the Skills section.
- Find the skill you endorsed (it shows a filled/checked button) and click it again to remove your endorsement.
Endorsements on your own profile:
- Go to your profile > Skills > edit (pencil).
- Open a skill to see its endorsers; toggle Show/Hide to control which appear, or hide an endorser entirely.
5. Troubleshooting
I don’t see an Endorse button
You can only endorse 1st-degree connections. If you’re not connected, the button won’t appear — send a connection request first.
My endorsement isn’t showing on their profile
The owner may have hidden endorsements for that skill, or set endorsements to require their approval. That’s their setting, not an error.
How do I stop someone’s endorsement from showing on my profile?
Go to your Skills > edit a skill > toggle off that endorser. You can also turn off endorsements for a skill entirely.
Can I endorse a skill that isn’t listed?
No — you can only endorse skills the person has added. Ask them to add the skill, then endorse it.

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
