NowCerts API: AI Automations for Insurance Agencies
A renewal 45 days out, a certificate request in the inbox, and a quote missing two documents are three different records in NowCerts—and one morning worklist from Carly. Carly can prioritize the outreach, ask the client for exactly what is missing, update the producer or CSR, carry policy changes into connected systems, and keep the agency briefed without another manual report.
NowCerts has a working read-write API, a current Postman collection, and webhook infrastructure. An agency can authorize an API user rather than applying to become a software partner.
The naming is changing: NowCerts login screens and signup flows now show Momentum AMS updates. Searchers will see both names for a while, so confirm which branding appears in your own tenant; the public API remains at api.nowcerts.com as of July 2026.
Agency workflows worth connecting
The API is valuable where the AMS knows a policy fact but the next customer or staff action still depends on a CSR.
- Renewal worklists build themselves. Find policies approaching expiration, exclude already-renewed accounts, and create a prioritized outreach queue by premium, line, or missing information.
- New web leads become prospects immediately. Create the insured or prospect, record the referral source, assign the right producer, and start the follow-up sequence.
- Certificate requests stop living in inboxes. Parse the request, find the insured and policy, attach the details to a task, and route coverage questions for licensed review.
- Missing documents become specific requests. Compare a policy or quote against a checklist and email the client exactly what is absent rather than sending a generic reminder.
- Policy changes sync to the operating stack. Update the CRM, accounting task, or client status when a quote becomes a bound policy.
Insurance is regulated work. An automation can organize information and draft communications; coverage advice, binding, endorsements, and certificate representations need the licensed agency workflow around them.
Getting API access
NowCerts authentication is user-based. An administrator gives a user the API Integration role, then the integration authenticates to obtain access and refresh tokens. Do not reuse a producer’s normal login: create a named integration user so permissions and activity can be audited separately.
The API home page links the live help reference, a Postman collection, example project, webhook documentation, and RabbitMQ documentation. The Postman collection was at version 2.1.5 on July 15, 2026, which is a useful sign that the interface is still actively changing. Pin your tested collection version and review changes before deploying updates.
Authentication and endpoint naming are less polished than a modern OAuth developer portal. Some operations are conventional REST reads, while many searches and inserts use POST; identifiers are often GUIDs; and the reference includes both JSON and XML shapes. Build against the actual examples rather than assuming resource-oriented URLs.
What the API can read and write
The live reference documents operations for insureds, prospects, policies, quotes, coverages, vehicles and drivers, files and folders, notes, opportunities, custom fields, referral sources, and agency locations.
Important examples include:
- Insert or update an insured, prospect, policy, or quote
- Search policies by number, carrier, line, effective date, expiration date, or insured details
- Retrieve policy files and folders and upload a file
- Read vehicles, drivers, coverages, additional insureds, and certificate holders
- Create notes and opportunity stages
Several insert methods replace or update existing structures. Test writes against non-production records and read the endpoint-specific behavior carefully—especially coverages, where a write can replace the existing set.
NowCerts also publishes webhook and RabbitMQ options. The existence of both does not mean every record type has the trigger you want. Verify the exact event, payload, retry behavior, and authentication path with a test tenant before designing a real-time workflow.
What Carly can run around NowCerts
Carly uses a dedicated NowCerts API identity and coordinates the work around the AMS across Gmail or Outlook, calendars, tasks, and the agency’s other tools.
- Lead-speed agent: reads a new referral or web inquiry, creates the prospect with the right source and producer, sends the first response, and follows up until the prospect replies.
- Renewal-prep agent: finds upcoming renewals, gathers missing exposure information, loss-run status, documents, and open tasks, then gives the producer a complete review packet.
- Certificate-request agent: turns an inbound request into a structured task with insured, policy, holder, wording, and deadline, then routes any coverage question to licensed staff.
- Document-chase agent: identifies exactly what is missing for a quote or renewal, sends the client a specific request, files replies, and stops the chase when the requirement is satisfied.
- Quote follow-up agent: watches open quotes, personalizes follow-up from the account history, and alerts the producer when intent is high.
- Client-update agent: sends approved messages when a quote, policy, endorsement, or claim-related task changes state.
- Daily book agent: delivers a morning brief of expiring policies, untouched leads, overdue tasks, certificate deadlines, and client replies needing a licensed decision.
NowCerts does not publish an official MCP server, so Carly connects through the Web API with your own credential. The automation handles the administrative movement; licensed staff remain responsible for advice, binding, coverage representations, and approvals.
Frequently asked questions
Does NowCerts have an API?
Yes. NowCerts publishes a Web API, current Postman collection, example project, webhook documentation, and a live endpoint reference at api.nowcerts.com.
Is NowCerts becoming Momentum AMS?
NowCerts account and signup pages display Momentum AMS update language in June and July 2026. The migration is in progress, while the API and much of the public website still use the NowCerts name.
Can the API write data?
Yes. It can insert or update insureds, prospects, policies, quotes, custom fields, coverages, notes, and other records. Some operations replace existing data, so test write behavior carefully.
How do I enable API access?
Have an administrator create or select a dedicated user and grant the API Integration role. Use that integration identity for authentication and token refresh rather than a staff member’s everyday login.
What can Carly automate with NowCerts?
Carly can run lead follow-up, renewal preparation, certificate-request intake, document collection, quote follow-up, policy-status communication, and daily producer or CSR briefs using NowCerts plus the agency’s email and task systems.

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
