What Is Slashy? The Gmail-Only AI Email Client
Slashy launched on Product Hunt in June 2026 and finished the day at number one. It drafts replies in your voice, triages what matters, tracks who still owes you an answer, and preps you for your next meeting. You can fire off an email from Slack or iMessage without opening it.
It’s a good product. But there are two structural facts about it that decide most evaluations, and neither is a criticism of the AI: it’s Gmail-only, and it’s a replacement email client, not something that sits inside the mail app you already use.
What Slashy does

- Triage. Sorts what deserves attention from what doesn’t.
- Follow-up tracking. Surfaces the threads where someone owes you a response, which is the half of follow-up most tools ignore.

- Slashy MCP. An MCP server, so coding agents and other MCP clients can reach it.
On security it carries SOC 2 Type II and CASA Tier 2, states it does not train on your data, and enforces zero data retention with its AI providers. For a product this young that’s a stronger posture than most.
The two constraints
Gmail only. From Slashy’s own FAQ, verified July 30, 2026: Slashy works with Gmail and Google Workspace today, and Outlook is coming soon. If you’re on Microsoft 365, that’s the end of the evaluation for now. Worth re-checking, since “coming soon” has a way of arriving.
It replaces your email client. This one is easy to miss. Slashy syncs with Gmail, so your mail, labels, and history stay where they are and there’s no migration. But you don’t use Slashy inside Gmail. You use it instead of Gmail’s web client. Their FAQ says so directly.
That’s a bigger behavioural ask than a plugin or a background agent. Everyone who touches your mail has to move, extensions you rely on may not come with you, and if Slashy isn’t working out you’re switching clients back rather than just cancelling a subscription. For some people the client is the appeal, since it’s how Slashy delivers a coherent experience. For others it’s the dealbreaker.

The trial is 7 days and requires a credit card, and there’s no permanently free tier.
