That distinction matters. “Which lead sources closed best last quarter?” is an analytics question. “Follow up with every estimate that has been quiet for three days, stop when the customer replies, and put booked appointments on the sales rep’s calendar” is a workflow—and it is the second one that gives the owner their evenings back.

Speed-to-lead stops depending on who notices the notification. Carly creates or updates the lead, sends a specific response, assigns the rep, and puts the consultation on the calendar while the prospect is still thinking about the project.
Every estimate gets the follow-up your best salesperson would send. Carly knows the client, project, last activity, and assigned rep. It follows up on your timing, stops when the customer responds, and brings a real objection to a human instead of letting it disappear into an automation sequence.

It is useful because the person asking does not need to build a report or know the database fields. It also stays inside the Builder Prime data model. Bolt Insights can explain what is happening in the CRM; it does not become the system that sends a tailored client email, updates a separate spreadsheet, or coordinates the team’s calendars.
The open API is real, but its scope is specific
Builder Prime publishes self-serve Open API documentation. An administrator generates a secret key under Admin → Integrations → Open API, names it, and chooses permissions. The connection also needs the subdomain from the URL your company uses to sign in.
The documented surface includes:
- Clients and leads: retrieve, create, and modify
- Client activities and notes: create
- Projects: list, retrieve, create, and modify
- Meetings: list, retrieve, create, modify, and delete
- Employee, meeting-type, and meeting-result reference data: retrieve
That is enough for serious lead, project, and appointment workflows. It is not proof that every Builder Prime screen is writable. Invoices, estimates, production work orders, and reporting data should only be promised when the corresponding endpoint appears in the key’s documented permissions.
How to connect Builder Prime to Carly
- In Builder Prime, go to Admin → Integrations → Open API and generate a key with only the permissions the workflow needs.
- Copy your Builder Prime subdomain. If you sign in at
acme.builderprime.com, the subdomain isacme. - Open carlyassistant.com/integrations, choose Choose a provider, and select Builder Prime.
- Paste the key, replace the placeholder in the API URL with your subdomain, choose read or write access, and save.
Builder Prime does not publish an official MCP server, so Connect an MCP server is not the route here. Carly’s Builder Prime provider handles the API-key header and prompts for the company-specific base URL.
The key is stored encrypted, and write access is separate from read access. Start with read-only for reporting or audits, then enable writes when the workflow actually needs to create or change a record.
Contractor workflows worth connecting
