Cliniko Pricing: Six Bands, $45 to $395 a Month
Cliniko has one plan. Every feature is in it, and the price is set entirely by how many practitioners you have, in six bands running from $45 a month for a single practitioner to $395 for up to 200.
There is no upgrade path, because there is nothing to upgrade to.
The six bands
| Practitioners | Monthly | Per practitioner at the top of the band |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | $45 | $45.00 |
| 2 to 5 | $95 | $19.00 |
| 6 to 8 | $145 | $18.13 |
| 9 to 12 | $195 | $16.25 |
| 13 to 25 | $295 | $11.80 |
| 26 to 200 | $395 | $1.98 |
Prices are in US dollars. There is a 30-day free trial.
Where the bands are expensive
Banded pricing is generous in the middle of a band and punishing at the bottom edge. Two moments stand out.
Going from one practitioner to two costs $50. That is the largest proportional jump on the whole ladder: your bill more than doubles when you hire your first colleague. It is also the point most solo clinics reach first.
Going from five to six costs $50. The 2-to-5 band is the sweet spot of the ladder. A five-practitioner clinic pays $19 per head; a six-practitioner clinic pays $24.17. Adding the sixth practitioner costs you $50 a month before they have seen a patient.
The other edges are gentler. If you are hiring near a band boundary, it is worth knowing which side of it you land on.
What “every feature” actually means
Cliniko’s position is that every subscription includes every feature, and it has never charged extra for a new one. Included at all six price points:
- Unlimited admin users and unlimited reception users
- Unlimited locations
- Unlimited file storage
- 100% free support
- A developer API
The unlimited admin and reception users matter more than they sound. In a system that prices by practitioner, the front desk is free, so a clinic with three physios and two receptionists pays the three-practitioner rate.
The one thing that costs extra
SMS credits are 10¢ a message, prepaid. That is the only additional Cliniko fee.
Cliniko is explicit that a subscription plus SMS credits is the whole bill, with the caveat that third-party apps you integrate may charge their own fees.
No discounts, and no contract
Two policies are worth knowing before you negotiate, because there is nothing to negotiate.
Cliniko does not discount. The stated reason is that everyone pays what is on the website, so you can assess it honestly. If you were planning to ask for a rate, the answer is published in advance.
There is no contract. Cancel and you are not billed again. Change bands mid-month and you are credited pro rata for the remainder of the old plan and charged pro rata for the new one, which makes seasonal staffing changes cheap to reflect.
Migration is free. Transferring from another system costs nothing.
Free for charities and educational institutions
Registered charities and educational institutions use Cliniko free, arranged by getting in touch rather than through a signup flow. Cliniko also donates at least 2% of all subscriptions to charity.
What the flat feature set does not include
A single plan with everything in it is the cleanest pricing model in clinic software, and the free front desk seats make it cheaper in practice than the headline suggests.
What it does not do is answer the messages. The patient who emails on Sunday asking to move Tuesday. The GP referral that arrives as a PDF attachment and needs a call back. The new patient who asks three questions before they will book anything. Those arrive in an inbox, not in the appointment book, and they fall to whoever is on the desk.
Carly takes that on. Zapier-style workflows are free, so rebooking reminders, recall sequences and no-show follow-ups cost nothing to run. Booking pages and connected calendars are unlimited, so each practitioner can hand out their own link for new-patient enquiries. Every Gmail and Outlook account connects as its own authorized connection, so replies go out from the address the patient and the referrer already use. The agent that reads the message, drafts the reply and books the appointment starts at $35 a month, and Carly connects to thousands of apps, so the notes, the schedule and the patient record stay in Cliniko.

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
