Google does not call them connectors. The current name is Connected Apps, and before that they were Extensions. If you have been searching for a Gemini connector directory and finding nothing, that is why: the feature exists, the vocabulary moved, and a lot of writing about it still uses the old word.

How Connected Apps work
You connect apps in Settings and help → Connected Apps at gemini.google.com. In a prompt, type @ and pick an app to aim a request at it; if the app is available, Gemini will often reach for it on its own without being asked. Some apps connect automatically.
Two things gate the feature, and neither is obvious:
- Keep Activity has to be on. With it off, Connected Apps are unavailable on gemini.google.com, on iOS, and on smart watches entirely. On Android you are left with Utilities, Phone, Messages, and WhatsApp. This catches people who turned activity history off for privacy reasons and then wondered why nothing worked.
- Google Messages is excluded. Connected Apps do not run there.
Availability also varies by location, language, device, and which Gemini app you are in. A work or school Google Account follows a separate path from a personal one.

The shape of that list
Read it twice and the pattern is hard to miss. Outside Google’s own apps, the third-party additions are Dropbox, GitHub, Wix, Spotify, Instacart, OpenTable, Zillow, and Viator, plus a long tail of phone manufacturers’ note-taking apps.
There is no Salesforce. No Slack, HubSpot, Notion, Jira, Zendesk, Asana, Stripe, or QuickBooks. Gemini’s directory is built around a person with a phone: playing music, booking a table, checking flights, controlling the lights. It is a genuinely good consumer assistant surface and a thin business one, which is a different bet from ChatGPT reaching well over a thousand apps or Claude’s directory leaning toward work tools.
If your work lives in a CRM, a helpdesk, or a project tracker, the Gemini connector list is not where you will find it.
Custom apps, and the catch
Gemini does support connecting your own app by pointing it at an MCP server, which in principle opens up anything that speaks the protocol. The restriction is significant: custom Connected Apps are available only to users with Gemini Spark access, and only inside Spark tasks. It is not a general escape hatch from the directory above.

What connecting an app does not buy you
The built-in connectors hold one account per provider. ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini each authorize a single Google identity, and connecting a second one replaces the first rather than adding to it. Switching inboxes means disconnecting and reauthorizing, which is why "personal and work" is still two sessions rather than one.
The other limit is the one every vendor connector shares. Connected Apps answer questions and take actions inside a conversation you are having. Gemini can schedule actions, so recurring work on a timer is possible, but nothing starts because a specific thing happened in one of your apps. An email arriving, a deal moving, a form landing: none of those can begin anything.
That is fine for “play this album” or “what is on my calendar.” It is the whole problem for work that arrives on someone else’s schedule.
