These are two different numbers people constantly mix up. The 200 cap is about how many individual email addresses you can add to the guest field before Calendar tells you to use a group instead. The 50 cap is about what guests can see: once an event passes 50 guests, the guest list is hidden, so attendees can no longer view who else is coming or each other’s RSVP status.
There’s also a Chat boundary at 200: Calendar only spins up an event group chat when total guests (organizer included) stay at or below 200. Past that, you keep the invite but lose the auto-created chat.
How to Invite More People
