How to Sync Your Calendar with Alexa (2026 Guide)
Alexa can read your schedule out loud and add events by voice, but only after you link the calendar account. Alexa supports Google, Apple iCloud, Outlook.com, and Microsoft Office 365.
Link a calendar to Alexa
- Open the Alexa app on your phone.
- Tap More in the bottom right, then Settings.
- Tap Calendar, then Add Account.

Anyone within earshot hears the whole answer, which is the real problem with a calendar on a shared device.
Two things help. Turn on voice profiles so Alexa recognizes who is asking and reads that person’s calendar rather than the household default. And consider linking only the calendar you are comfortable being read aloud in a shared room, leaving work on your phone.
When Alexa stops reading your calendar
- The account needs re-authorizing. This is the most common cause and usually follows a password change or a new two-factor setup. Remove the account in Settings, Calendar and add it again.
- Events are on an unlinked calendar. Alexa only reads calendars from linked accounts. A secondary Google calendar you were shared into may not be included.
- Subscribed calendars do not appear. Calendars added by URL subscription typically will not surface through Alexa.
- The wrong default is set. If new events keep vanishing, they are landing on a different linked account than the one you are checking.
- Shared iCloud calendars are unreliable. Alexa reads your own iCloud calendar more dependably than one shared with you.
