My AI Front Desk (Frontdesk AI): Pricing and Alternatives

My AI Front Desk is one of the first AI receptionists small businesses find when they go looking for someone to answer the phone. This year it renamed itself Frontdesk AI and grew from a phone bot into a bundle: calls, texts, web chat, email and its own CRM in one $99 plan.

The bundle is the pitch. Whether you want to move your customers into it is the question.

The quick answer: My AI Front Desk (now Frontdesk AI, still at myaifrontdesk.com) is an AI receptionist for small businesses. It answers calls 24/7 on your forwarded number, texts and chats with customers, books on Google or Outlook calendars, transfers urgent callers and logs everything to its built-in CRM. It costs $99 a month, or $79 a month billed annually, for 200 voice minutes, then 25 cents a minute. Reviews split: 4.9 on G2, 3.5 on Trustpilot, where the low scores are about refunds. If you want calls and texts answered, booked on every calendar your team uses and worked from one team inbox, with the setup done for you, Carly is the better pick.

What My AI Front Desk does

You paste your website or describe your business, add services, prices and FAQs, set the rules (what to ask before booking, when to transfer), then forward your business number.

On a call, it:

  • Answers in your business name in under a second, in 20+ languages.
  • Qualifies and books against Google, Outlook or Calendly availability, then confirms by text.
  • Transfers urgent callers warm, with a spoken summary first.
  • Logs the call as a recording, transcript and CRM fields (intent, urgency, timeline), and alerts your team.

Around the phone sits the rest of its “AI workforce”: a website chatbot, a texting agent, email drafts, tickets, outbound calls and follow-up sequences, sharing one memory per customer. Its 2026 pitch, “Agents 2.0,” adds agents that build their own knowledge base and get tested on simulated calls, aimed increasingly at property managers, retailers and therapy practices.

The trade-off: it’s built to replace your CRM, scheduler and texting tool. If your team already works from Gmail, Outlook and HubSpot, it’s one more place to check.

What changed in 2026

  • The name. Between April and July 2026 the site switched from “My AI Front Desk” to “Frontdesk.” The domain didn’t change.
  • The plans. A $99 Starter and $149 Pro (October 2025) became a free tier plus a $99 bundle (April), then a $20 Basic tier (July), then by September one self-serve plan with a 7-day trial. Its homepage FAQ still describes a free plan; its pricing page says there isn’t one.

My AI Front Desk pricing (October 2026)

PlanPriceWhat’s included
Business-in-a-Box$99 a month, or $79 a month billed annually ($948 upfront)200 voice minutes, 400 texts, 100 chats, 500 email drafts, 300 form submissions and 1,000 overage credits a month. 20 outbound calls a day, 2 editor seats, 3 alert recipients, the last 200 interaction logs
Partner / EnterpriseCustomVoice from 7 credits a minute, API access, custom integrations, account manager, onboarding

Past the allowance you pay in credits, at one cent each: 25 a voice minute, 4 a text, 5 a chat. The included 1,000 credits cover about 40 more minutes, and auto-reload adds $10 for every 1,000 after that.

The 200 minutes are about 65 three-minute calls. Take Michael Bennett’s HVAC company: 300 calls a month at two and a half minutes is 750 minutes. After the 200 included and 40 from the pool, 510 minutes at 25 cents add $127.50, so about $227 a month. Outbound calls stop at 20 a day regardless.

Carly prices the phone line on a short call with the Carly team, setup included. Everything else: Free Zapier-style workflows; AI agents from $35/month.

My AI Front Desk reviews: what users report

G2: 4.9 out of 5 from 26 reviews. Reviewers like the 24/7 coverage, the caller details it captures and the transfers. The recurring complaint is setup: it “took some adjustment,” and they want more room to change responses later. Most reviews on its first page were posted within four days in September 2026 and read much alike.

Trustpilot: 3.5 out of 5 from 18 reviews, 61% five stars and 22% one star. Five-star reviews praise how fast it answers and the built-in CRM. One-star reviews are about money, and Trustpilot notes the company hasn’t replied to them:

  • March 2026: paid for a year after the trial, spent about 30 hours on setup, got “inconsistent, unreliable results” and was refused a refund under the annual contract.
  • March 2026: paid $1,428 to test features the trial didn’t include, such as Zapier, cancelled within days and says the refund never came.
  • April 2026: “Fine product, awful sales funnel,” with features switched off, then offered back for an extra monthly fee.
  • June 2026: the trial took a card and charged $299 on day eight, with no refund.
  • August 2026: a reseller partner says payouts were promised for months and support replies take days.

Capterra: 2 out of 5 from one review. A law firm owner (September 2025) was told it integrated with HubSpot, found it needed Zapier, and said it answered “about 80% of the time.” Frontdesk now lists a HubSpot integration.

1. Carly

Carly is an AI assistant for your whole team, and Carly for teams puts it on your business line. It answers calls and texts on your number (the one you have or a new one), books callers on every calendar your team uses, follows up by email and text, and works the team inbox. You write instructions in plain English, and the Carly team sets it up with you.

A Tuesday call to Parker Pest Control while Emily’s techs are out on jobs:

  1. Your team gets the first ring. When nobody picks up, Carly answers in the company’s name, or around the clock if you’d rather.
  2. It knows the caller. Josh Whitaker’s number matches his CRM record and last spring’s email about ants, so the call starts there.
  3. It qualifies and books. Emily’s questions run in order, then Josh lands on a tech’s real calendar, round robin across the team, Google and Outlook alike.
  4. It follows up. A confirmation text from the business number and an email with prep notes, and a workflow sends the reminder the day before.
  5. It hands off and logs. If Josh asks for a person, Carly rings the right teammate. The transcript and summary land in the team inbox and on his CRM record.

What Frontdesk caps by plan comes with it:

  • Every calendar. Carly works across all of your team’s Gmail and Outlook accounts and calendars at once, so one request covers all of them. Callers who’d rather pick a time get a booking page.
  • Texts. Carly answers texts on your business number, a teammate can take over any thread, and carrier registration is part of setup. “Missed call, text them back” is one workflow (how it works).
  • Calls from ChatGPT or Claude. Add Carly Teams as a connector and ChatGPT or Claude can place calls, send texts and go through voicemail on your business line. You can build the voice and text agents themselves from the same chat (how to set it up).
  • One team inbox. Calls, texts and email share one timeline per customer, and a teammate replying pauses the AI. Carly writes back to HubSpot, Salesforce and Dynamics 365 instead of moving you into a new CRM.
  • Workflows on call events. Trigger on call summarized, voicemail or text received, described in a sentence. Carly connects to thousands of apps, so the outcome lands where your team works.
  • Speed to lead. A web form comes in, Carly calls the lead within about a minute and books them (how AI voice agents work).
  • Email agents. Put an AI email agent on your support@ or bookings@ address too.

Best for: Small and mid-sized teams that want calls answered, booked and logged in the tools they already use, without building it themselves. Pricing: Phone line priced on a short call. Free Zapier-style workflows; AI agents from $35/month. Setup: Done with the Carly team. Get started or book a call.

2. Smith.ai AI Receptionist

Smith.ai sells an AI receptionist billed per call, alongside its human receptionist service. The AI plans include lead qualification, routing, scheduling through tools like Calendly and a studio for test calls before you go live.

Best for: Law firms and service businesses that may want human receptionists from the same vendor later. Pricing: Free for 25 calls a month, then $3 a call. Pro is $150 a month for 75 calls ($2.50 per extra call), and Enterprise starts at $500 a month for 300 calls. Limitations: An August 2026 Trustpilot reviewer said the AI kept re-asking questions callers had answered. Cancelling takes 30 days’ notice, and a September 2026 reviewer couldn’t get a prepaid six-month contract refunded.

3. Rosie

Rosie is an AI answering service for owner-run businesses that trains itself on your Google profile and website, with iOS and Android apps.

Best for: Solo owners and small crews who mostly need messages taken and links texted. Pricing: $49 a month for 250 minutes, $149 for 1,000 and $299 for 2,000 on monthly billing, or $41, $124 and $249 a month billed annually. 7-day trial. Limitations: Booking straight onto your calendar and live transfers start on the $149 plan; the $49 plan texts callers a booking link. It answers in English and Spanish only, and other apps connect through Zapier.

4. Goodcall

Goodcall bills per unique caller instead of per minute, so long calls and repeat callers cost nothing extra.

Best for: Businesses with long or repeat calls that minute billing would punish. Pricing: $79 a month per agent for 100 unique callers, $129 for 250 and $249 for 500, with $0.50 for each extra caller. Annual billing takes 15% off. Limitations: Starter keeps call details for seven days, and your own number works through conditional forwarding. A June 2026 Trustpilot reviewer said the price climbed from $59 to $99 to $130 without notice and billing emails went unanswered.

5. Dialzara

Dialzara is a minute-based AI receptionist with an editable prompt and a usage estimator on its pricing page.

Best for: Low-volume businesses that want the cheapest entry point. Pricing: $29 a month for 60 minutes ($0.48 a minute over), $99 for 220, $199 for 500 and $349 for 1,000. 7-day trial. Limitations: Calendar sync, warm transfers and Spanish start on the $99 plan, and apps connect through Zapier or Make. An October 2026 Trustpilot reviewer said getting a response from support was hard.

6. Ruby

Ruby is a live answering service: trained people answer 24/7, with scheduling, bilingual answering and intake available.

Best for: Businesses whose callers expect a human every time. Pricing: $250 a month for 50 receptionist minutes, $395 for 100, $720 for 200 and $1,725 for 500. Limitations: Minutes run out fast on long calls. A September 2026 Trustpilot reviewer said spam and hang-up calls ate into billable minutes both times they subscribed.

See what people say

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
