neatlogs: AI Agent Debugging, Pricing and Alternatives
neatlogs is a debugging tool for AI agents in production. It reads your agent’s traces, spots failures, works out the likely cause, and can hand a proposed fix to your coding tools. It can also work alongside what you already use, since it imports traces from platforms like LangSmith and Langfuse.
The quick answer: neatlogs suits teams who already collect traces but struggle to act on them. Its free plan is enough for a real test, and paid plans start at $99 a month with unlimited users. It’s a young company with little public information, so check security and support carefully before relying on it.

What neatlogs does
Most agent tracing tools show you what happened. neatlogs tries to go further and tell you what’s wrong. It monitors runs, flags problems, and groups related cases into a single incident.
Its examples show the kind of failure it targets: an agent ignored customer history, missed a refund exception, leaked personal data, or sounded dismissive. Each of those runs can look fine in a normal log.
The product has four main parts:
- Traces and detections: inspect runs and catch failures as they happen.
- Investigations: turn failures into evidence and a focused fix.
- Evals: define good output and check every run against it.
- Collaboration: keep the team working from the same evidence.
On paid plans, it surfaces incidents automatically and can have cloud agents open a pull request for an issue. It also lists Runway, VWO and AB Tasty, CFO.ai and Passionfroot among the teams using it.
CrewAI’s documentation includes an integration guide, which describes it as a way to see what your agent did, why, and share it.
neatlogs pricing
| Plan | Monthly | Annual billing | Spans included | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 50,000 (hard cap) | 14 days |
| Starter | $99 | $84/month | 250,000, then $10 per 100,000 | 30 days |
| Pro | $499 | $424/month | 1 million, then $8 per 100,000 | 90 days |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Negotiated | Custom |
A span is one step of an agent run, like a model call or tool call, and neatlogs says a typical trace has 5 to 20 spans. So the Starter allowance covers about 12,500 to 50,000 traces a month. Free covers about 2,500 to 10,000, with 3 investigations a month and 5 detectors.
Paid plans include unlimited users, which helps a growing team. neatlogs was also offering the first month free on paid plans when we checked. SSO and audit logs start at Pro, while SOC 2 or ISO documentation and VPC or self-hosted ingest are listed under Enterprise.
Can’t you just hand traces to Claude?
neatlogs raises this question itself, and it’s a good one. For a small agent and a single bad run, pasting a trace into Claude or Cursor often works well enough.
neatlogs argues that this falls apart at production scale, because traces are large, repetitive and mostly scaffolding. Its value is in comparing runs and isolating the few spans that matter, then passing only that evidence to your coding tool. That argument gets stronger as volume grows. A team with a few hundred runs a day may not need it yet.
What to check first
- Accuracy of diagnosis. A wrong root cause can waste more time than none. Test it on failures you already understand.
- Automated pull requests. Treat these like a junior engineer’s work and review each one. neatlogs’ FAQ addresses whether it changes code automatically, so read that closely.
- Security paperwork. Formal SOC 2 or ISO documentation is listed on Enterprise. Traces can contain customer data, so settle this before connecting production.
- Company stability. We could not find disclosed funding figures or founder details. A job listing says it’s backed by investors in the US, India and Japan. Ask directly about runway and data export.
How neatlogs compares
neatlogs is built to work alongside existing platforms instead of replacing them. If you already use LangSmith, Langfuse, Braintrust or Phoenix, you can import traces and add an analysis layer. Those tools remain broader platforms for tracing and evaluation.
Raindrop is the closest comparison, also focused on finding silent failures in production, with more funding and a higher starting price. For teams with one or two agents, the lower entry price makes neatlogs easy to try. Larger teams should run both on the same traffic.
FAQ
What is neatlogs?

There is a free plan. Starter costs $99 a month, or $84 billed annually. Pro costs $499 a month, or $424 billed annually. Enterprise is custom.
Does neatlogs replace LangSmith or Langfuse?
It doesn’t have to. You can import traces from Langfuse, Braintrust, LangSmith and Phoenix and keep your current platform.
What is a span in neatlogs?
A span is one ingested step of an agent run, such as a model call, tool call or retriever step.
Does neatlogs work with CrewAI?
Yes. CrewAI’s documentation includes a neatlogs integration guide.

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
