How to Give Your AI Agent an Email Address with Meta Muse

1:52 · October 19, 2026

An AI agent with its own email address can take work by email. Send it a task and it does the task and emails you back. It can send you a morning briefing, check its own inbox for incoming mail, and ask before it replies to anyone outside. In the video, Meta Muse gets its own address from Carly email in about five minutes, and the same one-line prompt works in Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity. You can use your own domain instead of carlyemail.com, like agent@yourcompany.com, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up for you, and attachments work in both directions.

Step by step

  1. 01

Tell Meta Muse to set up Carly email

Ask Muse to look up Carly email, or paste this prompt: "Read https://docs.carlyemail.com/llms.txt and set yourself up with an email address." The same prompt works in Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity.

  2. 02

    Enter the verification code

Carly email sends you a verification code. Give it to Muse to finish the signup.

  3. 03

    Name the address

Pick a name for your agent's email address. You can switch to your own domain later, like agent@yourcompany.com.

  4. 04

    Let it check its inbox

Say yes when Muse asks to check the inbox for incoming emails. From then on you can email it tasks and it emails you back.

  5. 05

    Set who it replies to

A rule worth setting: "If an outside person emails you, email me first and ask whether to reply. If it's me, just reply."

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
