Claude + Jane (Jane App): What the Integration Can (and Can't) Do in 2026
No — there’s no ready-made way to connect Claude to Jane, and no open door to build one either. Jane (the practice-management and charting platform for physio, chiro, massage, and mental-health clinics at jane.app) isn’t one of Claude’s official connectors. Jane does run a real developer program — the Jane Developer Platform — but it’s an approval-based partner program, not a sign-up-and-get-a-key API. Jane has said plainly that it isn’t launching an open or public API and doesn’t hand API keys to practices. So any “connect Claude to Jane in minutes” pitch is running ahead of what exists.
Here’s what’s actually available, the gate, the limits, and what to use if you want Jane work that runs on its own.
The gate: Jane’s developer program is partner-only
Most “connect Claude to X” stories depend on X giving you an API key. Jane doesn’t do that for the clinics that use it:
- No open or public API. Jane has stated it has no open API, doesn’t provide API keys to clinics, and has no plans to. A practitioner can’t generate a key and point anything at their own clinic’s data.
- The Jane Developer Platform is approval-based. Technology partners build clinic-authorized integrations — “Jane Extensions” — but getting access means making a business case for your integration and passing Jane’s partner review, not signing up on a portal.
- This is a vetting gate, not a plan upgrade. Access is reserved for approved integration partners. A solo clinic owner wanting a Claude workflow isn’t the audience.
So the honest position: there’s a developer program, but it’s a partnership you apply for, not a key you paste.
What Jane ships — and what it doesn’t
Jane’s own Integrations Hub covers vetted partners — Physitrack, payment processors, and similar clinical tools — all built through the partner program above. That’s the supported surface, and none of it is Claude-native.
What you won’t find is any Claude connector for Jane, official or community-built. That makes sense: with no public API to build against, there’s nothing for an outside connector to talk to. That’s different from an EHR like DrChrono, where a sign-up-and-get-a-key API means community-built connectors exist.
Jane does ship its own in-product AI (charting and admin assists inside the app). That’s a Jane feature — it doesn’t connect to your Claude account.
The HIPAA and PHIPA reality you can’t skip
Even if you were an approved partner, there’s a compliance wall for clinical data. Consumer Claude plans are not HIPAA-compliant and Anthropic does not sign a BAA for them — and a homemade connection you or a partner wire up doesn’t come with one either. Jane serves clinics under HIPAA (US) and PHIPA (Canada), and routing patient health information through a general Claude chat puts you offside your own obligations.
Practical read: keep anything you paste into Claude de-identified. Claude is fine for “help me word a general no-show policy” and not appropriate for “summarize this patient’s chart.”
The limit that matters: nothing in Jane can start Claude
Set the gate and compliance aside for a moment — say you somehow had partner access. The shape is still “an assistant you operate,” not “an agent that runs.” Three limits define it:
- It never notices anything. Nothing catches a new booking or a completed appointment and acts on it. No “when a new client books, send them the intake form.”
- Scheduled, but not triggered. Claude’s scheduled tasks genuinely do run on their own now — remotely, on a clock you set, with the app closed. They fire at 8am because you said 8am, not because a client just booked or cancelled, and there’s no inbox for Jane to notify.
- The gap is where clinic work lives. A booking that lands at 7:05pm waits for the next run. A cancellation that frees a Saturday slot doesn’t reach your waitlist while the slot is still worth filling.
What about email — can’t Claude just send the reminders? Out of the box, no: Claude’s built-in email (both Gmail and Outlook) only drafts, it doesn’t send — you still hit send yourself. So even “sending” doesn’t get you to hands-off.
So Claude is good for “draft a rebooking email I’ll send myself” and not built for “message every no-show automatically and offer them a new slot.”
If you want Jane work that runs on its own: Carly
The moment you want something to happen around Jane without you in the chat — email a new client their intake link the instant they book, send a reminder the evening before a session, nudge a no-show to rebook, prep tomorrow’s schedule — you’ve walked past what Claude is for. And since Jane’s API is partner-gated, most of that work is best anchored to the seams Jane does expose to the outside world: your calendar and your inbox.
That’s where Carly fits. Carly is an AI executive assistant built to act on triggers, not just answer in a chat:
- When a new client books, Carly emails their intake form and a welcome note, then adds the follow-up to your task list — 24/7, in the cloud, off the booking itself rather than the next scheduled sweep.
- When someone cancels or no-shows, Carly nudges them to rebook and offers the freed slot to your waitlist.
- The evening before each session, Carly sends the reminder and preps your morning schedule.
- Never touches PHI it shouldn’t. A homemade Claude connection dead-ends at the HIPAA/PHIPA wall — no Anthropic BAA covers clinical data. Carly works the calendar and inbox seams around the record — reminders, intake, rebooking — so it runs the day-to-day follow-up without ever reading the chart. Keep the messages themselves de-identified, same as you would anywhere.
- Actually sends and updates — drafts and sends email (Gmail and Outlook) with attachments, files and labels, manages tasks, and records meetings.
AI agents start at $35/month, and steps in a workflow that don’t use AI run free and unlimited. Carly connects to 200+ tools across 40+ categories — see integrations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Claude work with Jane App?
Not officially. There’s no Claude connector for Jane, and no open API for a practice to build one against — the Jane Developer Platform is an approval-based partner program, not a public API. Claude can only help out of band, like drafting an email you send yourself, and even then keep patient data de-identified.
Does Jane have a public API I could connect?
No. Jane has said it doesn’t provide API keys to clinics and has no plans to. Integrations are built by vetted technology partners through the Jane Developer Platform, which requires a business case and partner review.
Is it safe to put patient notes into Claude?
Be careful. Consumer Claude plans aren’t HIPAA/PHIPA-compliant and there’s no BAA with Anthropic, so patient health information shouldn’t go into a general Claude chat. If you use Claude to shape wording, keep it de-identified.
What if I want Jane to act on its own — remind clients, chase no-shows?
That’s outside what Claude does; a scheduled task can run on a timer, but nothing acts because a client booked or no-showed. Carly works the calendar and inbox seams around Jane 24/7 in the cloud — sending reminders, handling intake follow-up, and nudging no-shows to rebook. AI agents start at $35/month.

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
