Claude + Rent Manager: What the Integration Can (and Can't) Do in 2026

Short answer: there’s no ready-made way to connect Claude to Rent Manager. Rent Manager isn’t in Anthropic’s connectors directory, and there’s nothing Rent Manager-built to install. Rent Manager does run a well-established Web API with two-way read/write access and a 200+ member Integrations Program, but API access is partner-approved, not self-serve — the API portal is for authorized customers only. So the realistic path is a connection someone technical builds against approved credentials. And even connected, it only works inside a conversation you start — nothing watches your portfolio or acts while you’re away.

Here’s what’s actually available, the approval gate, the limits, and what to use if you want Rent Manager work to happen without you.

The gate: approved API access, not a self-serve key

Rent Manager’s Web API gives read and write access to nearly your whole database. But you don’t just generate a key from settings. The API portal is for authorized customers, and access is requested through Rent Manager’s support/API process — closer to a partner onboarding than a quick developer sign-up.

The upside of that model is the Integrations Program, which passed 200 PropTech partners in 2025 — screening, utility billing, smart entry, leasing, and AI-driven vendors all connect through it. The downside for a Claude setup is that there’s no five-minute, paste-a-key path.

A naming caution: on Zapier you’ll see a “Rentman” app — that’s a different product (event and equipment rental software from rentman.io), not Rent Manager the property platform. Rent Manager property management has no native Zapier connector, so the no-code Zapier shortcut isn’t the clean route it is for some other tools.

How you’d actually connect Claude to Rent Manager today

No first-party path exists, so the options are unofficial and gated. In Claude, the connection is called an MCP server — a small program someone technical builds and runs that sits between Claude and Rent Manager. Two ways to get there:

  1. Your own connector, post-approval — get authorized API credentials from Rent Manager, then have someone technical point a connector at the Web API for read/write control.
  2. A managed unofficial integration — third parties like Supergood build and run unofficial Rent Manager integrations (handling the login and security details) that a connector can sit on top of, if you’d rather not build the plumbing yourself.

Either way it lands as a custom connection. Remote connectors on claude.ai require a paid Claude plan; local ones run through Claude Desktop or Claude Code. There’s no Anthropic-blessed Rent Manager button.

The limit that matters: Claude only acts when you ask

Even past the gate, everything Claude does happens inside a conversation you start:

  • It never notices anything. The Web API can return a new tenant, a work order, or an overdue balance, but there’s nothing on the Claude side catching that change and acting on it. No “when a service issue is logged, notify the vendor and the owner.”
  • Close the chat and it stops. Claude pulls a rent roll or looks up a unit when you ask; it doesn’t sit on your account watching move-outs and following up. The moment you’re done, it’s done.
  • “Scheduled” isn’t really automatic. Claude’s scheduled tasks fire on a fixed clock, not when a work order or a lease renewal comes in. That’s not an always-on property manager.

And email? Claude’s built-in email drafts in both Gmail and Outlook but doesn’t send — you still hit send yourself, and only inside the chat. You could pay a developer to build sending in too, but it’s one more thing to maintain and it still only fires while you’re in the chat.

So Claude is good for “summarize this month’s open work orders” and not built for “route and chase every service issue for me.”

If you want Rent Manager work to happen on its own: Carly

The moment you want something to happen around Rent Manager without you in the chat — email a tenant the instant a payment posts late, notify a vendor when a work order opens, send a weekly delinquency summary — you’ve crossed past what Claude is for.

That’s where Carly fits. A custom Claude connection dead-ends at Rent Manager’s gate — API access is partner-approved, not a key you generate, so you clear that process before Claude reads anything, and even then it only answers inside a chat. Carly handles that access for you and runs the work on triggers, 24/7 in the cloud:

  • When rent posts late → Carly emails the tenant, flags the owner, and logs the follow-up.
  • When a work order is created → Carly drafts the vendor assignment and notifies the owner.
  • When a lease is signed → Carly sends the welcome packet and updates your records.
  • Every Monday → open work orders and delinquencies roll up into one owner-ready summary.

Carly drafts and sends email across Gmail and Outlook with attachments, manages tasks, and updates your records — and connects to 200+ tools across 40+ categories (see integrations), including a native Rent Manager integration. Describe the workflow in plain English and Carly builds it with you. AI agents start at $35/month, and any step in a workflow that doesn’t use AI runs free and unlimited.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Claude work with Rent Manager?

Not out of the box. There’s no Claude Rent Manager connector and nothing Rent Manager-built to install. Someone technical could build a custom connection against Rent Manager’s Web API — but API access is partner-approved rather than self-serve, and like everything Claude, it only works inside a conversation you start.

Is the “Rentman” Zapier connector the same as Rent Manager?

No — and this trips people up. The Rentman on Zapier is event and equipment rental software, a different company. It is not Rent Manager the property management platform, which has no native Zapier connector.

How do I get Rent Manager API access?

Through Rent Manager’s authorized API process, not a self-serve key — the API portal is for approved customers, and you request access via their support/API channels. Managed unofficial integrators like Supergood are an alternative if you’d rather not build the plumbing.

What if I want Rent Manager to act on its own — chase rent, route work orders?

That’s outside what Claude does; it responds inside a chat and doesn’t act on events. Carly fires on Rent Manager events and schedules 24/7 in the cloud and can email tenants, owners, and vendors, update records, and send summaries. AI agents start at $35/month.

See what people say

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
