Every guest has a status, not a guess
Each person sits at invited, going, not going, or waitlist. Delivery and open activity attach to the name, so “did they even get it” has an answer.
You can revoke an invitation when the wrong person gets forwarded it, which stops their link working and stops mail reaching them, and undo that later if it turns out you were wrong. The row stays either way.
Plus-ones are counted, not estimated. Custom questions collect the dietary requirement, the parking answer, the t-shirt size. When it fills, the waitlist takes over.
Guests never make an account
The fastest way to lose an RSVP is to put a signup in front of it. Guests get a link and answer.
They can also just reply to the invitation in plain words. “We’re in, bringing Emily” is recorded the same way a click is, which is what a good share of people will always do instead of pressing the button.
Check them in at the door
On the day, the list opens on a phone and you check people in as they arrive. The count you spent three weeks assembling is the count you use at the door, rather than a printed sheet and a pen.
