Connect Multiple Slack Workspaces to ChatGPT Work
OpenAI states the limit in a single sentence: the ChatGPT Slack app can only connect to one Slack workspace at a time. No workaround inside ChatGPT changes that, so the question becomes what one workspace costs you and how to reach the rest. 1. Add your Slack workspaces to Carly
- Sign in at carlyassistant.com.

On a client workspace where you are not an admin, their Slack administrator approves the install. Ask early.

2. Connect the Slack app in ChatGPT
- Select your profile icon, then Settings → Apps.
- Browse the app directory and select the Slack entry.
- Click Connect and complete the OAuth flow, choosing the workspace you want as your primary.
- On Enterprise or Edu, an admin enables Slack from the directory first.
- Ask for a summary of a channel you know to confirm it works.
Pick the workspace you would miss most, because it is the only one this connection will hold.

No. OpenAI documents that the Slack app connects to one Slack workspace at a time, so a second workspace needs a second connection outside ChatGPT.
Can ChatGPT post messages in Slack?
Where a workspace admin has enabled actions, it can join a channel, create a reminder, upload a file, and update your Slack profile. Which actions are available is controlled per workspace under Action control.
Why does an action I enabled still not work?
The scope probably is not approved on the Slack side. If your Slack workspace requires admin approval, a Slack admin approves or reinstalls the app before the action becomes usable.
Does Slack Enterprise Grid let ChatGPT see several workspaces?
Not as one connection. Grid affects how scopes are approved across the org; the ChatGPT app still holds one workspace at a time.
Does ChatGPT react when a Slack message arrives?
No. Runs start from you or from a schedule, so nothing happens because a message landed.
