How to See Attendance in Teams (2026)
The attendance report in Microsoft Teams shows who joined a meeting, plus their join and leave times. Only the organizer and co-organizers can see and download it. You can grab it live during the meeting or from the meeting chat afterward. Here’s how.
Download Attendance During the Meeting
- On the meeting toolbar, click People.
- In the participant pane, click More actions (the … at the top).
- Select Download attendance list.
A CSV downloads with everyone currently in (and who has joined) the meeting.
Get the Report After the Meeting
The report is ready in the meeting chat about five minutes after the meeting ends:
- Click Chat in Teams.
- Open the past meeting (or event) chat.
- Select the Attendance tab.
- Click Download to save it as a .csv file.
Open the CSV in Excel or any spreadsheet app to see names, join times, and leave times.
If you record meetings, an AI note taker like Carly can email you the recap and action items alongside the attendance list — it’s an assistant you email or text, starting at $35/month.
Turn the Attendance Report On
If you don’t see an Attendance tab, the report may be disabled for that meeting:
- In the meeting (or its calendar event), open Meeting options.
- Find Participation > Allow attendance report.
- Toggle it on.
If the option is missing entirely, your IT admin may have turned attendance reports off for the whole organization.
Troubleshooting
I don’t see the Attendance tab
Only the organizer and co-organizers can view it, and the report must be enabled in Meeting options (Allow attendance report). Attendees never see it.
The report is empty or missing after the meeting
Give it about five minutes after the meeting ends. If it never appears, attendance reporting may be turned off by your admin, or the meeting was a type that doesn’t generate one.
Can I get attendance for a recurring meeting?
Each occurrence has its own report in that occurrence’s chat. There’s no single combined report across the series in Teams itself.
Why are some people listed twice?
People who left and rejoined show multiple join/leave rows. That’s expected — it reflects each session in the meeting.
Can attendees download attendance?
No. Attendance is limited to the organizer and co-organizers. Make someone a co-organizer in Meeting options if you want them to access it.

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
