Meta Muse Pricing 2026: Free, Power $20, Maximum $100
Meta Muse is free to use, and most people will never pay for it. The two paid plans, Power at $20 a month and Maximum at $100 a month, buy more weekly usage rather than any extra feature.
The short verdict: the free tier is generous enough that a week of ordinary errands barely dents it, so start there and watch the meter before paying anything. Power at $20 is for someone running Muse most of the day. Maximum at $100 is priced for people who let the agent work unattended for hours. If what you want to pay for is work handled on your email and calendar, not tokens, Carly offers free Zapier-style workflows, with AI agents from $35/month.
Meta Muse plans and prices
Figures as listed on Meta’s Muse subscriptions help page on September 30, 2026, in USD. Meta offers monthly billing only; there is no annual toggle and no annual discount.
| Plan | Price | Weekly allowance | Who it fits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 100 million Muse tokens | Errands, planning, a few tasks a day |
| Power | $20 a month | 500 million Muse tokens | Daily heavy use, longer agent runs |
| Maximum | $100 a month | 3 billion Muse tokens | Unattended work for hours at a time |
Meta’s help page puts numbers on the two paid tiers only. The free figure of 100 million tokens a week comes from Mark Zuckerberg’s launch post, as reported by Gizmodo the day after launch. Meta describes all three as a weekly usage allowance that increases as you upgrade.
Every plan has the same features. Connectors, the Mac app, WhatsApp access, memory, the Sentinel approval agent and Link by Stripe checkout are all on the free tier. What you buy is volume.
What a Muse token is, and how far 100 million goes
Muse meters everything in tokens, the small chunks of text the model reads and writes while it plans, browses and fills in forms. A single errand can cost anywhere from a few thousand tokens to several million, depending on how many web pages the agent has to read and how many times it retries.
The best public test of the free allowance is Gizmodo’s attempt to exhaust it. Over a week the writer had Muse build a website, fifty variations of a theme tune, three browser games and a fake Mac desktop. Muse reported 6% of the weekly allowance used after the first batch and 11% after the games. That is far past what booking a table or chasing a refund costs.
The meter resets once a week on a fixed day, which Muse tells you when you ask. Nothing carries over: a quiet week does not bank tokens for a busy one. Muse warns you in the app before you run out, and once you do, the choice is to wait for the reset or upgrade.
Why the free plan asks for a card
Muse asks for a payment card at signup even if you never intend to pay. TechCrunch reported at launch that this is because subscriptions kick in as usage rises, and Meta expects most people to stay free. The card is not charged unless you choose a paid plan; running out of free tokens pauses the agent rather than billing you.
Two more things the card does. Link by Stripe uses it to generate one-time card numbers when Muse checks out for you, and Meta has said it plans to make money over time by taking a small fee from transactions the agent completes. So the long-term business model is the purchases, not the $20.
The invite bonus is worth a billion tokens
New accounts can enter a friend’s invite code in Settings within 48 hours of joining and receive 1 billion bonus tokens, which is ten weeks of the free allowance at today’s rate. Each code works twenty times and the referrer gets the same bonus, per Gearlive’s report on the referral program. If you are testing Muse, claim a code before doing anything else.
Muse, Muse Code and Meta AI are three different bills
The name is doing a lot of work, and buyers mix these up:
- Muse is the personal agent this page covers. Free, $20 or $100 a month.
- Muse Code is Meta’s coding tool for developers. It left beta on August 31 with plans at $5, $15 and $50 a month, metered in requests per five hours rather than tokens per week.
- Meta AI is the chat assistant inside WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Messenger. It is free, answers questions and creates content, and does not carry out tasks.
Developers who want the underlying Muse Spark model pay per token through Meta’s developer platform, billed separately from any of the above.
Who should pay for Power or Maximum
Power makes sense when the agent is doing your work rather than your errands: monitoring a feed all day, running a small business’s storefront and books through the connectors Meta added on September 29, or handling a long research project that reads hundreds of pages. Maximum is for the person who keeps several long tasks running in parallel and never wants to see the meter.
Before upgrading, check the limits that do not change with the plan: one Gmail account and one Outlook account per connector, per-action approval that waits on you, and availability in the US and Canada only. None of those are fixed by paying $100.
The alternative for work email
Muse’s tiers price the agent’s effort. For work, the cost that matters is what the agent is allowed to touch. Carly connects every Google and Microsoft account you have, shared mailboxes included, and starts a workflow when an email lands or a meeting ends rather than waiting to be asked. Free Zapier-style workflows, with AI agents from $35/month, and no weekly meter to watch. Set up Carly for me. Carly connects to thousands of apps, from Gmail, Outlook and my calendars to Slack, HubSpot and QuickBooks, and keeps working after this chat is closed: answering email, booking meetings, following up and running workflows the moment something happens.
1. Add the Carly MCP server (https://carlyassistant.com/mcp/) and sign me in. Use the one that matches you:
- Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http --scope user carly https://carlyassistant.com/mcp/ (then I run /mcp, pick carly, and authenticate)
- Codex: codex mcp add carly --url https://carlyassistant.com/mcp/ then codex mcp login carly
- Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, or Cowork): Customize > Connectors > Add custom connector, paste the URL, and sign in. Carly is also in Claude's connector directory at claude.ai/directory/carly.
- ChatGPT: open Plugins, search for "Carly", add it, and sign in.
- Cursor: add {"mcpServers": {"carly": {"url": "https://carlyassistant.com/mcp/"}}} to ~/.cursor/mcp.json, then sign in to carly from Customize.
- Muse: I will create a Carly API key at carlyassistant.com/integrations (Advanced > API Keys > Create a new key, with Select all scopes). Build a custom connector to https://carlyassistant.com/mcp/ using an API key as a bearer token, and ask me for the key in your secure credential prompt.
- Grok: go to grok.com/connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom, paste the URL, and sign in.
- Grok Bot: open Plugins, add a custom remote MCP server named carly with the URL, then I approve it and sign in.
- Perplexity: Settings > Connectors > Custom connector > Remote, paste the URL, and sign in.
- Anything else: add a remote MCP server (streamable HTTP) named carly with the URL. It signs in with OAuth.
I sign in with my Carly account, or create one at carlyassistant.com.
2. Walk me through connecting my accounts at https://carlyassistant.com/integrations. Under Accounts, I type each email address I use and click Add Email. On each new address, I click Connect Gmail or Connect Outlook, tick what Carly can reach (Email, Calendar, Contacts, Drive or OneDrive), then click Connect with Google or Connect with Microsoft and grant access. For an address that is already connected, I open Manage access and click Connect next to anything missing. Repeat for every address. Then ask which of my other apps I want connected too.
3. Check it worked: list my connected mailboxes and calendars and tell me every account you can see.
4. Then ask me what to hand off first, for example: "Check all my inboxes for anything that needs a reply today."See what people say
"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
