ChatGPT & Claude (MCP)
How Many Email Accounts Can ChatGPT and Claude Use?
Email ends up scattered: a personal Gmail, a work address, an old domain that still gets real mail, maybe a shared inbox for the business. Connect an assistant like ChatGPT or Claude to email directly and you usually get to connect exactly one of them, so everything else stays invisible to it. This video answers the obvious question by asking the assistant itself. With the Carly MCP connected, ChatGPT is asked how many email addresses it can send from and comes back with all three: a Gmail account plus two on a custom domain, one of those running on Microsoft. It can send and receive from any of them, and there is no per-account limit, so you add as many as you actually have. Email is only part of it. The same connection covers calendars, file storage, and the contacts scattered across all those accounts, so one request can check a calendar on one account, pull a document from another, and send mail from a third. Beyond your own accounts it reaches Carly's native connectors, roughly 260 apps including SendGrid, Postmark, Resend, incident.io, PagerDuty, ActiveCampaign, Customer.io, Stripe and Square, with anything else that has a public API reachable by pasting in your own key. And it runs on the ChatGPT or Claude plan you already pay for.
Step by step
- 01
Connect your accounts once
Add every inbox you actually use at usecarly.com: the personal Gmail, the work address, the old domain, the shared inbox. There is no per-account limit.
- 02
Add the Carly MCP to ChatGPT or Claude
MCP is the standard that lets an assistant reach into a real tool and take real actions instead of telling you what to click. Paste carlyassistant.com/mcp on the plugins or connectors page.
- 03
Ask the assistant what it can reach
"How many email addresses can I send from using my Carly account?" It names them back: in this case a Gmail plus two on a custom domain, one of those on Microsoft. It can send and receive from any.
- 04
Use calendars, files and contacts on the same connection
The connection is not email-only. One request can check a calendar on one account, pull a document from another, and send the mail from a third.
- 05
Reach the rest of your stack
Carly has native connectors for roughly 260 apps, including SendGrid, Postmark, Resend, incident.io, PagerDuty, ActiveCampaign, Customer.io, Stripe and Square. Anything else with a public API connects with your own key.
- 06
Keep the plan you already have
This runs on your existing ChatGPT or Claude subscription. There is no separate assistant to buy or migrate to.

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
