How to Connect All Your Email Accounts to ChatGPT and Claude
ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini each authorize one account per provider. Connect a second Google identity and it replaces the first instead of adding to it, so moving between a work inbox and a personal one means disconnecting and reauthorizing every time. This walkthrough sets up the Carly MCP instead, which holds every account at once and hands them all over through one connection. You add each inbox on the Integrations tab, copy your MCP URL, then connect the assistant: in ChatGPT, Carly is a listed plugin, so you open Plugins, search for Carly and press Add. In Claude you add a custom connector and paste the URL. The whole thing takes about two minutes and works the same on both. Once it is on, one request can search every mailbox, draft and send replies, bulk archive or label, unsubscribe from a sender, and check your calendar and book the meeting without leaving the chat. The same connection reaches everything else on your Carly account, and prebuilt workflows are copy-paste from the library. One limitation worth knowing: MCP has no trigger or scheduler of its own, so the assistant only acts while a chat is open. Carly's workflows run on the event instead, which is what handles the 9:05am email at 9:05am.

See why the built-in connectors are not enough
ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini authorize one account per provider. A second Google identity replaces the first rather than adding to it, so every switch between work and personal mail is a disconnect and a reauthorize.

Add your inboxes
Sign in at usecarly.com and open the Integrations tab. Add each email account you want the assistant to reach, Gmail or Outlook, work and personal alike. There is no cap on how many you connect.

Copy your MCP URL
Open the MCP page and copy the URL shown there. It is the one address both assistants connect to, and it carries every account you just added.

Connect ChatGPT
Open Plugins, search for Carly and press Add. Carly is a listed plugin, so there is no URL to paste on this side.

Connect Claude
Press + under the chat box, then Connectors and Manage (the same screen lives under Customize, then Connectors). Choose Add custom, name it Carly, paste the MCP URL and press Add.

Search all of them in one query. Draft, send and forward replies. Bulk archive or label. Unsubscribe from a sender. Check the calendar, find free time and book the meeting without leaving the chat.

Know the one limitation
MCP has no trigger and no scheduler of its own, so the assistant only acts while you have a chat open. Anything that should happen when an email arrives belongs in a Carly workflow, which runs on the event whether or not you are at your desk.
