Claude + Lawmatics: What the Integration Can (and Can't) Do in 2026

No — there’s no official Claude Lawmatics connector, and no community-built one either. Lawmatics isn’t one of Claude’s official connectors, and it wasn’t among the legal connectors Anthropic shipped in May 2026 (those focused on research, documents, and e-discovery — not intake CRM). The good news for a bring-your-own-key path: Lawmatics has a documented API. The catch: you have to ask support to turn API access on before you can use it.

Here’s what’s actually available, the gate, the limits, and what to use if you want Lawmatics intake that runs on its own.

The gate: a support request to turn the API on

Lawmatics is a legal CRM — client intake, marketing automation, and pipeline for law firms — and it does publish a real API. The developer docs cover a standard API (limited to 150 requests a minute per firm). But you can’t just open a developer console and start:

  • Access is off by default. Per the Lawmatics help center, you email support to have Developer Settings enabled on your account first.
  • Then you register an app. Only after that can you generate an API key and start making calls. It’s positioned as a higher-tier/developer feature.

So a “connect Claude to Lawmatics in five minutes” claim doesn’t survive the enablement step. Real data waits on a support request.

What Lawmatics ships — and what it doesn’t

The API covers the intake-CRM core — matters, contacts, appointments, custom forms — a clean surface for an outside assistant once Developer Settings are on.

What you won’t find is anything Claude-native. Lawmatics has leaned hard into its own AI: an AI Suite with QualifyAI (AI lead scoring), EngageAI (AI outreach across email, phone, text, and chat), and MerlinAI (an in-platform copilot for building automations), plus LM[AI] for AI email drafting. It’s genuinely capable — but it’s all in-product, so it doesn’t connect to Claude or reach the rest of your stack.

How you’d actually connect Claude to Lawmatics today

No first-party path exists and there’s no community-built one, so the options are your own build or a middleware bridge:

  1. Your own connector. Email support to enable Developer Settings, register an app to get an API key, and have someone technical build and run a small connector that sits between Claude and the Lawmatics API. (This is what “MCP” refers to when you see it — MCP is just the standard those connectors are built on.)
  2. A middleware bridge. Lawmatics has broad no-code coverage: an official Zapier app (triggers for Matter created, Contact created, PNC converted, Custom Form added; actions to create appointments/contacts/matters), plus Pipedream and Make. You can wrap any of them into a connector Claude can use — the practical path, since Zapier only needs your Lawmatics login, not the enabled API.

Either way, adding a custom connector on claude.ai needs a paid Claude plan.

The limits that actually matter

Even past the gate, the shape is “an assistant you operate,” not “an agent that runs.” Three limits define it:

  • No triggers, no monitoring. Lawmatics can fire a Zapier event on a new PNC (potential new client) or a submitted intake form, but Claude only runs inside a conversation you start — there’s nothing to catch that event and act. No “when a new lead comes in, score it and send the first outreach email.” You have to be in the chat, prompting.
  • Conversation-only. Claude pulls a contact or a form response when you ask; it doesn’t sit on your account watching intake and following up. Close the chat and nothing continues.
  • A timer, not a trigger. Claude’s scheduled tasks fire on a fixed clock you set, not when a new lead or intake form lands. That’s not an always-on intake agent — which is exactly what a legal CRM is supposed to power.

And on email: Claude’s built-in email (both Gmail and Outlook) only drafts, it doesn’t send — you still hit send yourself, and only from inside the chat. So Claude is good for “summarize this week’s new leads” and not built for “reply to every new intake within two minutes and book the consult.”

If you want Lawmatics intake that runs on its own: Carly

The moment you want something to happen around Lawmatics without you in the chat — email a new lead the instant their form lands, nudge a stalled consult, send a Monday pipeline digest — you’ve crossed past what Claude is for.

That’s where Carly fits — an AI executive assistant built to act on triggers. A custom Claude connector still needs Lawmatics support to switch on Developer Settings before it can touch a contact; Carly runs that same key once it’s enabled — and works the email-and-calendar intake seams in the meantime:

  • When a new lead submits the intake form, Carly drafts the first-touch email, sends it, and books the consult.
  • When a consult is booked, Carly confirms with the lead and adds the prep task.
  • When a lead stalls in the pipeline, Carly drafts and sends the follow-up nudge on your schedule.
  • Every Monday, the week’s new leads and pipeline movement roll up into one digest for the partners.

Carly reaches Lawmatics via your own API key once Developer Settings are on, or through Gmail, Outlook, and your calendar meanwhile, and drafts and sends email across both inboxes. AI agents start at $35/month, and steps in a workflow that don’t use AI run free and unlimited.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Claude work with Lawmatics?

Not officially. There’s no Claude Lawmatics connector and no community-built one. You can connect them through Zapier or a connector someone builds against the Lawmatics API — but that’s unofficial, the API has to be turned on by Lawmatics support first, and either way it only works inside a conversation you start.

How do I get Lawmatics API access?

You email Lawmatics support to enable Developer Settings on your account, then register an app to generate your API key. It’s rate-limited to 150 requests a minute per firm. Zapier is the no-enablement alternative for no-code automation.

Isn’t Lawmatics’ AI Suite already a Claude integration?

No. QualifyAI, EngageAI, MerlinAI, and LM[AI] are Lawmatics’ own in-product AI. They work inside Lawmatics and don’t connect to your Claude account or reach your inbox and calendar.

What if I want Lawmatics to act on its own — respond to new leads, book consults?

That’s outside what Claude does; it responds inside a chat and doesn’t act on events. Carly fires on Lawmatics events and schedules 24/7 in the cloud and can email new leads, book consults, update contacts, and send pipeline digests. AI agents start at $35/month.

See what people say

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
