How to Connect Multiple Google Calendars to ChatGPT

ChatGPT does not document a way to connect two Google accounts to its Google Calendar app, and it says nothing official about secondary calendars. Those are two different limits: one person may have work and personal Google identities, while a single identity may contain primary, team, family, and subscribed calendars. First identify which kind of “multiple” you have

ChatGPT’s Google app data-controls FAQ says it can access content from “the Google account you choose to connect.” OpenAI does not publish a flow for adding a second Google identity to the same Calendar app.

For calendars inside that identity, the documentation is thinner. OpenAI lists the Calendar OAuth scope but publishes no dedicated Google Calendar capabilities page and does not state whether secondary, shared, or subscribed calendars are searched. A July 2026 community report says only the primary calendar was returned, but that is a user report, not an official product limit.

What ChatGPT can write is narrower than the OAuth scope

OpenAI’s March 2026 Business release notes document write actions for Google and Microsoft apps, including setting up meetings through their calendar apps. Those actions are disabled until a workspace administrator turns them on under Workspace settings → Apps → Manage actions.

Creating a meeting is documented. Moving, rescheduling, and deleting a Google Calendar event are not described in any current OpenAI help article. The granted calendar.events scope can technically cover those operations, but a permission is not proof that ChatGPT exposes the action.

The default approval preference also still asks before important changes such as appointments. Keep that protection on while testing a multi-calendar setup.

The native workaround is two ChatGPT accounts

OpenAI documents account switching, which keeps two ChatGPT accounts signed in on the web. Each can connect a different Google identity, but the histories, memory, billing, and workspaces remain separate. It is capped at two accounts and does not produce one conversation that searches both calendars.

That is useful for switching contexts, not for checking all calendars before accepting a meeting.

1. Give every account and calendar a role

The calendar name matters when one account owns several. The full Google address matters when the same calendar name exists in two identities.

2. Connect each Google account to Carly

Sign in at carlyassistant.com.

Choose the first Google account and approve access.
Return to the integrations page and select Google Calendar → Connect again.
Choose Use another account if Google preselects the first identity.
Confirm the full address and its calendars before adding the next account.

3. Add Carly to ChatGPT

Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar.
Click +.

OpenAI now lists apps inside its Plugins Directory. Custom remote MCP access varies by plan: Pro is documented for read and fetch, while full MCP including write actions is available on Business and Enterprise/Edu through developer mode. If the add control is unavailable, ask the workspace administrator to enable the connection.

4. Test every calendar before changing one

Use an event whose location you already know:

In the Personal calendar under fictional.maya.lopez@gmail.com, find the next event containing “dentist.” State the account and calendar. Do not change it.

In the Product Launch calendar under fictional.maya.lopez@airbnb.com, list events next Tuesday. State the source calendar and do not edit anything.

Then test the combined view:

Check every example calendar for conflicts Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Eastern. Include the full account and calendar name for each conflict.

5. Reuse this calendar-routing prompt

Treat fictional.maya.lopez@gmail.com as Personal, fictional.maya.lopez@airbnb.com as Main Company, and fictional.maya.lopez@sony.com as Client. Always state the target address and calendar before changing an event. Wait for approval before creates, updates, moves, or deletions.

Then specify both layers:

Create the approved hold on the Main Company primary calendar only. Do not add it to Personal or Client.

Move the event on the Product Launch team calendar. Do not change the similarly named event on the primary calendar.
