How to Connect Multiple Calendars to Claude Cowork

Work Google. Personal Google. A client’s Outlook. You want one Cowork task guarding the whole week while your laptop is shut, but Cowork borrows Claude’s connectors, and those hold one Google account and one work Microsoft account. The task watches part of your week and reports the rest as free.

Short answer: connect every Google and Outlook calendar to Carly, add the Carly connector to Claude once, and a single Cowork task, scheduled or run by hand, checks, books and moves events across all of them.

If your message box no longer shows separate Chat and Cowork options, you have the single Claude that Anthropic began rolling out to Pro and Max on September 16. Nothing below changes: describe the task in any conversation.

1. Connect your Google and Outlook calendars to Carly

  1. Sign in at carlyassistant.com.
  2. Open carlyassistant.com/integrations.
  3. Find Google Calendar, click Connect, and sign in with your first Google account.
  4. Click Connect again for each other Google account, Workspace or personal.
  5. Find Outlook Calendar, click Connect, and sign in. Repeat for every Microsoft account, work or personal Outlook.com.

This is the step Cowork’s own connectors cannot take. A second Google account sits beside the first, Outlook sits beside both, and the team, family and shared calendars under each login come along too.

If a Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account stops at a consent screen, an administrator approves Carly once and you finish the sign-in.

Carly connects to thousands of apps, so while you are on the integrations page you can add the inboxes, CRM and files you want the same tasks to use.

2. Add Carly to Claude for your Cowork tasks

  1. Click Get the Carly connector, then Connect, and sign in with the Carly account holding your calendars.
  2. In a Cowork task, open + → Connectors and toggle Carly on.

Cowork has no connector catalogue of its own. Whatever is connected under Customize → Connectors is what a task can call. The Carly connector runs from Anthropic’s cloud, so a scheduled run reaches it with your computer off. On Team and Enterprise plans an Owner may need to add the connector for the organization first.

3. Schedule one task across every calendar

  1. Click Scheduled in the left sidebar, then New task, and choose Create with Claude. On the new single Claude, type the request into any conversation instead.
  2. Describe the job once:

Every weekday at 7am, check all my calendars for conflicts and double-bookings and move my holds out of the way of real meetings. Then give me the day in time order.

  1. Pick the approval mode, confirm the schedule Claude proposes, and click Schedule.

At seven each weekday a fresh Cowork session starts in Anthropic’s cloud and Claude calls Carly. Carly reads every calendar you connected, Google and Outlook, work and personal, in one pass. It sees that the 9:30 with Emily Parker from Deloitte on your work Google lands on a dentist appointment on your personal Google, and that a focus hold on the client’s Outlook now sits under a standup someone added overnight. The hold moves, the clash goes in your summary, and you never told it where to look.

That single pass is the whole point. A slot is only free if every calendar agrees, and the calendar a task cannot see always looks empty. A scheduled task reading one account will report a clear morning with total confidence.

On the approval mode: Anthropic’s guidance for scheduled tasks is to keep consequential actions out of unattended runs and review each one, and on Team and Enterprise plans an Owner decides whether connector write tools may run without asking. Moving a hold is easy to undo. Work that should happen the moment something lands, with nobody watching, belongs in a Carly workflow, covered below.

What one Cowork task can do afterwards

  • Every Friday, build a spreadsheet of next week’s meetings from all your calendars, one tab per client.
  • Each morning, brief you on the day across every calendar, in time order.
  • Find a free hour this week across all of them and put a hold on it.
  • Flag a work meeting that lands on a personal block before you accept it.
  • Draft replies that offer times checked against every calendar, from any connected inbox.
  • Total the hours you spent with each client last month across Google and Outlook.

If every calendar you own sits under one provider, the narrower guides cover it: multiple Google Calendars in Claude Cowork and multiple Outlook calendars in Claude Cowork. For quick questions in an ordinary chat, see how to connect multiple calendars to Claude.

What Cowork’s own calendar connectors allow (October 2026)

Cowork is included on Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise, not Free, and it reaches calendars only through Claude’s connectors. There are two, and each holds one account.

Google Calendar. On the Google account you connect, it views events (including calendars shared to that account), creates, updates and deletes events, finds mutual availability and responds to invites, asking your approval before each action by default. Anthropic’s help center says Claude can access Calendar data only “for the Google account you’ve connected,” and a second Google sign-in replaces the first rather than sitting beside it.

Microsoft 365. Outlook calendars arrive inside the Microsoft 365 connector with mail, OneDrive, SharePoint and Teams, behind three gates:

  • It needs a work or school account on a Microsoft Entra tenant. Personal Outlook.com, Hotmail and Live addresses cannot connect.
  • A Microsoft Entra Global Administrator grants a one-time consent for the tenant.
  • It is read-only by default. Creating, updating or deleting events needs write tools an administrator turns on.

Neither connector has gained multi-account support since August, and the September release that brought Cowork into every conversation left that alone. Anthropic’s public feature request for several accounts on one connector has been open since February and has passed 260 comments. A founder running two companies through Cowork put the scheduled-task problem plainly on October 1: “The Gmail and Calendar connectors hold one account, so Claude sees one inbox and one calendar, and scheduled tasks that triage mail or book meetings can only run against that one.”

Cowork’s scheduled tasks genuinely run with the laptop shut, but the menu is hourly, daily, weekly, weekdays or manual. An invite that lands at 2:10pm waits for the next run. Carly workflows start on the event itself: a new calendar event, a new email, a schedule or a form. You describe what you want in plain English and Carly builds and runs it, for example “when a meeting lands on any of my calendars, add a prep task” or “when someone books over a hold, move the hold and email me.” Workflows run inside Carly, so they never wait for a Cowork session to start.

Carly booking pages use the same availability, so a client picking a time sees only the hours that are open across your work and personal calendars. You can also CC Carly on an email thread or text Carly, and it schedules against the same calendars from there. Carly’s agents carry their own name, email address and memory, so a colleague can write to one directly and the scheduling starts on arrival.

When Cowork’s own connector is enough

If every calendar you care about lives under one Google account, including shared team and family calendars, Claude’s Google Calendar connector covers it and a scheduled task can read all of it. The moment a second Google account, any Outlook calendar, or a client’s tenant enters the week, the task either splits across separate connections or stops seeing part of your day.

For two or more accounts, or Google and Outlook together in one task, go with Carly. If your setup has an unusual piece, such as an executive’s delegated calendar in a locked-down tenant, book a call and the team will walk through it with you.

Quick fixes when a calendar does not appear

  • Google reused the account you are signed into. Choose Use another account on Google’s sign-in screen instead of the suggested profile.
  • A work account stalls at consent. A Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 administrator approves once, then you finish connecting.
  • The task answers from Claude’s own Google Calendar connector. Switch the native calendar connectors off under + → Connectors, so the request goes to Carly and covers every calendar.
  • A scheduled run did not use Carly. Open the task from Scheduled, check Carly is toggled on, and run it once on demand to confirm.

FAQ

Can Claude Cowork connect to multiple calendars?

Calendars under one Google account, yes, including shared and team calendars. A second Google account or a second Microsoft account, no, because Cowork uses Claude’s connectors and each holds one account. Connect them all to Carly and add Carly to Claude once.

Can a scheduled Cowork task check Google Calendar and Outlook together?

With Claude’s own connectors, one Google account and one work Microsoft 365 account, and the Outlook side stays read-only unless an admin enables write tools. Through Carly, any number of each in the same run, with bookings and moves on either.

Can a Cowork task move or book events while I am away?

Scheduled tasks run in Anthropic’s cloud with your computer off, under the approval mode you picked when you created the task. Anthropic advises keeping consequential actions out of unattended runs, and Team and Enterprise Owners decide whether connector writes can skip approval. For calendar work that should happen on its own, a Carly workflow acts the moment the event lands.

Does Cowork do anything when a new invite arrives?

No. Scheduled tasks run hourly, daily, weekly, on weekdays or by hand, so a new invite waits for the next run. Carly workflows start on new calendar events across all your calendars.

Which Claude plans include Cowork?

Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise. Free has the calendar connectors but not Cowork or scheduled tasks. Since September 16, Pro and Max accounts are moving to a single Claude with no separate Cowork button, and the same tasks run from any conversation. The Carly connector works the same either way; connect your calendars on the integrations page.

See what people say

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
