How to Connect Multiple Outlook Accounts to ChatGPT
ChatGPT’s Outlook Email app authorizes one mailbox, and connecting a second Microsoft identity replaces it. Authorize each account in Carly, add Carly to ChatGPT once, and a single chat can search or act in whichever mailbox you name. The same Carly account holds your Gmail inboxes and every calendar on both sides, so you set this up once for all of it.
1. Add your Outlook accounts to Carly
- Sign in at carlyassistant.com.
- Open carlyassistant.com/integrations.
- Find Outlook, click Connect, and authorize the account.
- Click Connect again for the next one, and keep going for as many accounts as you want.
A Microsoft 365 tenant may require administrator consent. Ask the Microsoft Entra administrator to approve the connection, then finish authorization.

2. Add Carly to ChatGPT
- Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar.
- Click +.

On July 9, 2026 OpenAI folded the app directory into a plugin directory shared across ChatGPT and Codex. A plugin bundles apps, skills, and app templates. The MCP connection underneath is unchanged, and the 1,600-plus already-approved apps were migrated automatically.
If + is greyed out on a Business or Enterprise workspace, the ChatGPT administrator may need to enable the plugin first.

- Produce a daily summary grouped by mailbox.
- Draft or send from the exact address you choose.
- Move, categorize, or archive in the correct mailbox.

Nothing is merged. Each mailbox keeps its own credentials, and Carly keeps them individually addressable.
The native app is one signed-in mailbox
The Google mail and calendar side is handled, on paper. ChatGPT and Codex have accepted several Gmail, Calendar and Contacts accounts side by side since August 2026, though an open thread on OpenAI's own developer forum reports Gmail and Drive showing as authorized in Settings while conversations call them unavailable at runtime, logged through late August and early September 2026 with no published fix. Every other connector is unchanged: Drive, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Slack and Notion each carry a single account. Carly carries all of them at once and names the one it acted on.
The native app can reach shared and delegated mailboxes inside a tenant you already have rights to, and it is worth knowing where that path ends before you build on it.

Frequently asked questions
Can ChatGPT natively connect two Outlook accounts?
No. The Outlook Email app authorizes the signed-in user’s mailbox, and adding another Microsoft identity replaces it. Connecting each account to Carly keeps them all reachable from one chat.
Does a shared mailbox count as a second account?
For the native app, no: a shared or delegated mailbox is one your existing login can already open, and attachments in it cannot be retrieved. Carly connects it as a mailbox of its own, so you can name billing@ in a prompt the way you name any other address. An independent login at another company is a separate identity, and Carly holds those too.
Can I mix a personal Outlook.com address with work accounts?
Yes. Connect each identity to Carly separately. On a company-managed ChatGPT workspace an admin may restrict which domains you can connect natively, and that restriction does not apply to what Carly already holds.
Can ChatGPT book a meeting on my Outlook calendar?
Not on your own calendar, which OpenAI documents as read-only for event data. A shared or delegated calendar you already have access to does accept writes. Carly holds the write path on every connected calendar, including your own.
Does this merge the mailboxes?
No. Each mailbox stays separately authorized and separately addressable, and requiring the source address on every row keeps it obvious which one an answer came from.
