How to Connect Multiple Gmail Accounts to ChatGPT
ChatGPT’s Gmail connector holds several Google accounts, and has since 28 August 2026. Open Plugins, click the gear on the Gmail connection, and sign in to the next account.
That release stopped at Google mail, calendar and contacts. Google Drive was left out, and so was everything outside Google, so a second Drive, an Outlook mailbox or a shared team inbox is still out of reach in the same chat. Connect those to Carly and one chat covers all of them.
1. Add the second Gmail account in ChatGPT
- Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar.
- Find the Gmail connection you already authorized.
- Click the gear icon on it.
- Choose to add an account and sign in to the next Google identity.
- Confirm the full address, then repeat for any others.
A Google Workspace account may need administrator review. Ask the Workspace administrator to approve it, then finish authorization. Google Calendar and Google Contacts work the same way.
2. Add your other mailboxes to Carly
- Sign in at carlyassistant.com.
- Open carlyassistant.com/integrations.
- Connect every Outlook mailbox, Google Drive account and shared team inbox you need, and any Gmail accounts you want Carly to act on directly.
- Click Connect again for the next one, and keep going for as many accounts as you want.

3. Add Carly to ChatGPT
- Open Plugins in the ChatGPT sidebar.
- Click +.
- Paste

- Sign in to the Carly account holding the Gmail connections.
- Make Carly available to the chat.
Since July 9, 2026 apps ship inside "plugins," listed in one directory spanning ChatGPT and Codex. Existing connections kept working and nothing needed resubmitting. What changed is the packaging and the storefront, not the protocol.
If + is greyed out on a Business or Enterprise workspace, the ChatGPT administrator may need to enable the plugin first.
What one chat can do afterwards
- Search personal and work Gmail in the same question.

- Draft or send from the exact address you choose.
- Label, move, or archive in the correct account.
- Check several calendars while writing to only one.
Nothing is merged. Each mailbox keeps its own credentials, and Carly keeps them individually addressable.
Where the native version runs out
Connecting a second Gmail to ChatGPT works now, and has since August 2026. Connecting a second Google Drive, a second Outlook mailbox, a second Slack workspace or a second Notion workspace does not, because those connectors still authorize one account apiece and replace it when you add another. Frequently asked questions
Can ChatGPT natively connect two Gmail accounts?
Yes, since August 2026. Add each one from the gear icon on the Gmail connection in Plugins. What one connector still cannot do is mix providers, so an Outlook mailbox beside a Gmail account means connecting both to Carly.
Is this different from ChatGPT Work?
The idea is the same, but the setup surface differs. Connecting multiple Gmail accounts to ChatGPT Work covers the Work version, including its end-user account model.
Can I mix personal Gmail and Google Workspace?
Yes. Connect each identity to Carly separately. Whether an address is a Workspace domain makes no difference to how it is routed.
Should the recurring inbox work run through ChatGPT?
ChatGPT only acts while you are in the chat. Hand the recurring work to Carly and it runs unattended in the same connected accounts.
Does ChatGPT see all my mail at once?
