Can Claude Connect to Multiple Gmail Accounts?
No, Claude cannot connect to multiple Gmail accounts through Anthropic’s own connector. It authorizes a single Google identity, and signing in with a second account replaces the first, taking that account’s Calendar and Drive with it.
But you can absolutely use Claude across every Gmail account you own. Put the accounts in Carly, add Carly to Claude once, and one chat reaches all of them.
Do this instead
- Connect each Gmail address at carlyassistant.com/integrations. Personal, work, client, as many as you like.
- In Claude, open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste
https://carlyassistant.com/mcp/. - Name the account you mean:
Search
josh@varonex.comand my personal Gmail for “renewal” in the last 30 days. Show the source address on every row.
That is the whole setup. Start free at carlyassistant.com.
The Gmail and Outlook sides do not behave alike
Worth knowing before you build on either one. Claude’s Gmail connector sends, replies and forwards with your approval, and no administrator has to be involved. The Microsoft 365 connector reaches Outlook only once an admin switches the write tools on, it rejects anything with an attachment, and it needs you in the conversation, so a scheduled task will not send while you are away.
Running both sides through Carly removes the asymmetry: same routing, same sending, same behaviour whichever provider the mailbox came from.
What you get that Claude alone cannot do
- Every inbox in one question. Personal Gmail, two work domains, a client account, all in the same chat.
- Outlook sits right beside Gmail. One connection covers both sides, plus every calendar.
- Shared mailboxes are real mailboxes.
billing@connects as its own mailbox and Carly replies from it. - Work starts when mail arrives. Carly’s agents have their own name and email address, so a client writes in and the work begins. Claude waits for you to open a chat.
- It sends. With attachments.
- Everything else you use is connected too. Carly connects to thousands of apps.
One connector, one account. That is the shape across ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. The Gmail or Google Workspace connection authorizes a single identity, so a second account overwrites the first instead of sitting beside it. Anyone running a personal address and a work address does the disconnect and reconnect dance to move between them. Connect both to Carly instead and the dance stops.

Frequently asked questions
Can I connect multiple Gmail accounts to Claude?
Not with Anthropic’s connector, which holds one Google identity. Connect the accounts to Carly and add Carly to Claude once, and a single chat reaches all of them.
Can I connect 2 Gmail accounts to Claude?
Two hits the same wall as ten. The second account replaces the first. Carly holds both, side by side.
Can you connect Claude to multiple Google accounts?
Not natively. One grant covers Gmail, Calendar and Drive for a single account, so a second identity swaps out all three.
Does Claude Cowork change this?
No. Cowork uses Claude’s connectors, so whatever Claude holds is what Cowork reaches. Same fix: connect multiple Gmail accounts to Claude Cowork through Carly.
Will it tell me which account an answer came from?
Through Carly, yes. Every action reports its source address, which is what makes a cross-account answer worth trusting.

See what people say
"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
