Claude + Hospitable: MCP Connector Setup and Limits

Yes, Claude works with Hospitable through Hospitable’s own MCP server. Add it as a custom connector, sign in to Hospitable, and Claude can read your properties, reservations, calendars and payouts and send guest messages. It works only when you ask, though, and no booking or message can start it. For the hosting work that has to happen on its own, add Carly.

What Hospitable offers Claude

Hospitable hosts an official remote MCP server at https://mcp.hospitable.com/mcp. It’s listed in ChatGPT’s plugin directory, and in Claude you add it by address. Hospitable MCP works on every Hospitable plan except Essentials.

Once connected, Claude can:

  • Look things up: properties, reservations, calendars, transactions, owner statements, tasks and alerts.
  • Find open dates: search your properties for a given stay and guest count.
  • Message guests: send a message on a reservation.
  • Tidy your setup: tag properties and add an iCal import feed.

Hospitable keeps adding tools. Ask Claude to call get-changelog to see what’s new.

How to connect Claude to Hospitable

  1. Add the connector. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. Click + Add, then Add custom connector. Name it Hospitable, paste https://mcp.hospitable.com/mcp and click Add.
  2. Sign in. Click Connect next to Hospitable, sign in to your Hospitable account and approve access.
  3. Turn it on for the chat. Click + in the message box, then Connectors, and switch on Hospitable.
  4. Test with a read. Ask “Which reservations check in this weekend?” before you send any guest a message.

On Team or Enterprise, an Owner adds the connector first under Organization settings, then Connectors. Members then click Connect in their own Connectors list.

What Claude can do with Hospitable

  • “Who checks in at the Lakehouse this Friday, and has their payout cleared?”
  • “Which properties are still open from December 26 to 30 for four guests?”
  • “Pull Josh Whitaker’s reservation and send him the parking instructions.”
  • “Summarize September’s owner statement for the Pine Street duplex.”

The limits that matter

  • No Hospitable trigger. Claude works when you ask, and its scheduled tasks run on a clock. A new booking, a guest message or a late payout can’t start it. Hospitable can send webhooks, but claude.ai has nowhere to receive them.
  • Guest words are not orders. A guest message can contain instructions written by a stranger. Read every message Claude proposes before it goes out.
  • Essentials doesn’t include it. You need a paid Hospitable plan above Essentials.

Hospitable work that runs on its own: Carly

Hospitable already automates the guest message templates it’s known for. Carly covers the work around them, across the rest of your business, in the cloud, on a schedule you set or when an email comes in.

Connecting Hospitable takes one step: in Carly, go to Integrations, open MCP servers, add Hospitable’s server address above and sign in. Then ask for things like:

  • “Every evening at 6, pull tomorrow’s check-outs from Hospitable and email my cleaners the turnover list.”
  • “On the 1st, total last month’s payouts by property and email each owner a short summary with the statement.”
  • “When a guest emails my Gmail about a stay, find their reservation and draft the reply for me to approve.”
  • “Every Monday, list any property with an open alert and add a task for my handyman.”

Carly connects to thousands of apps, so the same workflow can update your bookkeeping, post to Slack, or put a repair on the calendar. Routine steps run as free Zapier-style workflows; judgment calls run as an AI agent. Free Zapier-style workflows; AI agents from $35/month. See what people say

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
