Can Claude Cowork Connect to Multiple Outlook Calendars?
Partly. Claude Cowork reads every calendar inside the one Microsoft work account you connected, including calendars colleagues share with you. It can’t hold a second organization: connecting a client’s tenant replaces your own, mail and files included. A personal @outlook.com calendar can’t connect at all.
With Carly, it holds all of them. Add the Carly connector in Claude and one Cowork task sees every Outlook calendar you have, and your Google calendars beside them.
Do this instead
- Connect each Outlook calendar at carlyassistant.com/integrations. Every organization, your personal Outlook.com, and any Google calendars.
- In Claude, click Get the Carly connector, then Connect, and sign in with your Carly account.
- In the Cowork task’s + menu, choose Connectors and turn Carly on.
- Ask across all of them at once:
Every weekday at 7am, check all my calendars for today, flag anything that overlaps across them, and move the internal ones so the client meetings stay put.

What Cowork’s Outlook calendar access covers
Cowork has no calendar connector of its own. It uses whatever is connected in Claude, and for Outlook that’s the Microsoft 365 connector, which signs in one work account. Inside that account it does the job well:
| Calendar | Native Cowork |
|---|---|
| Your own work calendar | Read, and write after admin consent |
| Other calendars in your mailbox | Read and write |
| A colleague’s calendar shared to you | Read only |
| A second employer or client organization | Not at the same time |
| A personal Outlook.com calendar | Can’t connect |
On a schedule, the gaps turn into wrong answers nobody catches. A 7am task built on your own tenant says Thursday afternoon is free. The client tenant has you on site all afternoon. Cowork books the internal review over it, and nothing in the output says the other calendar was never checked.
Two more limits from Anthropic’s setup guide matter for a task that runs while you’re away:
- No booking on shared calendars. The connector reads calendars shared with you but can’t add events to them, so the exec or team calendar you manage stays read-only.
- Every event change waits for you. “Always allow” isn’t supported for creating or updating calendar events, so a scheduled task stops at each one.
What a Cowork task can do once Carly is connected
- Read every calendar at once. Your own tenant, client tenants, personal Outlook.com and Google calendars in one run.
- Book on the right calendar. The client meeting goes on the client tenant, the dentist goes on the personal one.
- Book on calendars shared to you. The executive or team calendar you manage is writable, not read-only.
- Give people a link. Booking pages check every connected calendar, so nobody grabs a slot that is taken somewhere else.
- Start when an invite lands. A new invite or a cancelled meeting can kick off a Carly workflow on its own, with no schedule to wait for.

Frequently asked questions
Can Claude Cowork see a calendar a colleague shared with me?
Yes, if it was shared to the Microsoft account you connected. Cowork reads it but can’t add events to it. Through Carly, you can book on it too.
Can Cowork check two Microsoft 365 calendars from different organizations?
Not natively, because connecting a second organization replaces the first. Connect both to Carly and add the Carly connector in Claude, and every task sees both.
Can Claude Cowork use my personal Outlook.com calendar?
Not through the Microsoft 365 connector, which only accepts work accounts on a Microsoft Entra tenant. Through Carly, personal and work Outlook calendars sit side by side.
Does this work for Google Calendar too?
Yes. Carly holds Outlook and Google calendars together. See can Claude Cowork connect to multiple Google Calendars.

See what people say
"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
