Several Gmail and Google Workspace inboxes reaching Microsoft Copilot through Carly

Can Copilot Connect to Multiple Gmail Accounts?

No, Copilot cannot connect to multiple Gmail accounts. Consumer Copilot at copilot.com has a Gmail connector that searches mail, calendar and contacts, and its authorization step covers choosing which account you want to use, one at a time. Microsoft 365 Copilot, the paid work product, has no Gmail connector at all: Drive, Calendar and Contacts are in the gallery and Gmail is not.

But with Carly, it can. Add the Carly connector in Copilot and you can use all of your Gmail accounts at once.

Do this instead

  1. Connect each Gmail address at carlyassistant.com/integrations. Every Workspace domain, plus Outlook and personal addresses if you have them.
  2. In Copilot Studio, open Tools → Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol and add https://carlyassistant.com/mcp/ as the server URL. It needs a work or school account and a paid licence, and it is the Microsoft-side route that carries write actions rather than a read-only slice.
  3. Ask across all of them at once:

Check all my inboxes for anything about the Q4 renewal and tell me which threads still need a reply today.

The accounts are usable in Carly the moment you connect them, so the mail work starts before anyone touches Copilot Studio. Start free at carlyassistant.com.

Reconnecting is not the same as connecting both

Signing out of one Google account and authorizing another gives you the inboxes one at a time. It never gives you a single request that holds all of them, so the questions worth asking stay out of reach: one client across every address you own, a morning brief grouped by company, a thread in one domain checked against your records in another.

The swap is also silent. Ask “find every invoice from last month” and the answer arrives confidently from the one account currently connected, with no hint that the rest of your mail was never searched. On a shared client account or a second Workspace domain, that is a wrong answer delivered with total confidence.

What you can automate across all of them

Carly does more than widen what Copilot can see. It works the inboxes while you are elsewhere. Carly watches every account you connect, and work starts the moment mail lands, with nobody watching. A few of the automations you can turn on:

  • Text me when an urgent email arrives. Carly watches all your inboxes and messages your phone the moment something genuinely urgent lands, a real person waiting on you, a hard deadline, or money. Everything routine stays silent.
  • Triage, tag and file every email. As mail arrives, Carly decides which label it belongs under, who owns it and how urgent it is, then applies the label in Gmail or moves it in Outlook. It uses labels you already have rather than inventing new ones, and nothing is deleted.
  • Draft replies to the ones that need a personal answer. Carly reads the full thread and saves a reply in your voice to Drafts for review. Newsletters, alerts and automated mail are skipped.
  • File attachments where they belong. A signed contract arrives, Carly works out which client or project it is, drops it into the matching Drive, OneDrive, Box or Dropbox folder, and logs it in a sheet.
  • Turn invoices and receipts into accounting entries. Carly parses the PDF, pulls the fields and creates the entry in QuickBooks.
  • Push follow-ups into the tracker you already use. Mail from a sender you choose becomes an Asana, ClickUp, Todoist or Google task with an AI-written title and summary instead of a raw subject line.
  • Open the CRM record from the first enquiry. A new enquiry becomes a person, a company and an open deal in Pipedrive, Attio or HubSpot, and a later pass email moves that deal to Lost with the reason written into the real field.
  • Post the daily inbox digest to Teams or Slack, grouped by account, so the team sees what landed overnight without opening five mailboxes.
  • Log every inbound email to a sheet with sender, subject, category and a one-line summary, across every account at once.

Those keep running in every account you connect while you are in a meeting or asleep. Carly connects to thousands of apps, so the far end of any of them can be the tools you already pay for.

One limit worth knowing on the Microsoft side: federated connectors added by an administrator in the Microsoft 365 admin center are required to expose read-only tools, which is why the Copilot Studio route above is the one that sends, drafts and labels.

What Copilot reaches once Carly is connected

  • All your Gmail accounts at once, in a single question, with no reauthorizing between them.
  • Gmail on the work SKU. Microsoft 365 Copilot ships no Gmail connector, and a Copilot Studio agent pointed at Carly reaches every inbox anyway.
  • Outlook sits right beside Gmail. One connection covers both providers, plus every calendar on both sides.
  • Shared and group inboxes are real mailboxes. billing@ connects as its own mailbox, and Carly replies from it.
  • It sends with attachments, and it acts on the event rather than only when someone opens Copilot.

Frequently asked questions

Does Microsoft 365 Copilot read Gmail?

Not through any Microsoft-built connector. Google Drive, Calendar and Contacts are in the gallery and Gmail is not. A Copilot Studio agent pointed at Carly is the route that reaches Gmail on the work SKU.

Can consumer Copilot hold two Google accounts?

Microsoft documents one Connect action per service, and the authorization step covers selecting which account you want to use. No second-account flow is published, so treat it as undocumented rather than supported. Carly holds every account at once.

Can I paste a connector URL into Copilot myself?

Copilot exposes no paste-a-URL box to ordinary users on either SKU. A maker adds an MCP server in Copilot Studio, which is the route that carries write actions, and an administrator can add a federated connector in the Microsoft 365 admin center, which is read-only by design.

Does Copilot send email from Gmail?

Microsoft documents the consumer Gmail connector as search and read, with no send action, and federated connectors on the work side are read-only by design. Carly sends from any connected Gmail account, attachments included.

Can Copilot do something automatically when an email arrives?

Copilot acts when someone asks it to. Carly runs on the arrival of the message itself, which is how the labelling, filing, texting and drafting above happen without anyone watching.

How many Gmail accounts can Carly hold?

As many as you connect. Add a client domain when the engagement starts and remove it when the work ends, without touching the others.

See what people say

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
