Can ChatGPT Work Connect to Multiple Gmail Accounts?
Yes. ChatGPT Work connects to multiple Gmail accounts. OpenAI added several Google accounts per plugin on August 28, 2026, and Work uses the same plugins, so one Work task can read personal Gmail and two Workspace domains together. Open Settings > Plugins, select Gmail, and choose Connect another account.

Connect the Gmail accounts natively
- Open Settings > Plugins and select Gmail.
- Under Connected accounts, select Connect another account.
- Sign in to the next Google account and approve the permissions.
- Repeat for each Workspace domain and personal address.
Each Google Workspace domain may put the connection through its own administrator review. On a ChatGPT Business or Enterprise workspace, the ChatGPT admin may also need to enable Gmail or approve the account’s domain.
Where a Work task still falls short
ChatGPT has held several Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Contacts accounts since August 2026, and on September 17, 2026 OpenAI extended multiple accounts to more plugins without listing them; its help center says only that "some apps" support it. On the Microsoft side, OpenAI's Outlook article says a second Microsoft account works "where supported," puts some actions behind each organization's Microsoft Entra administrator, and never mentions personal Outlook.com or Hotmail addresses. - Outlook mail starts nothing. Work can run a task when a new Gmail message arrives, on Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu. OpenAI’s documented triggers are Gmail, Slack and GitHub, so an Outlook inbox gets checked on a schedule or when someone asks, not when the mail lands.
- Client tenants are gated twice. OpenAI notes a ChatGPT workspace admin “may restrict connections to Outlook accounts from an approved set of domains,” and the client’s own Entra admin may have to approve ChatGPT on top.
- Unattended sends are wobbling. Since September 30, 2026, users on OpenAI’s forum report scheduled tasks blocked at the Gmail send step by “OpenAI’s safety checks,” while the same send works by hand.
