Claude + Lawcus: Connect Your Law Practice to Claude

Lawcus doesn’t offer a Claude connector, and it hasn’t published an MCP server. It does let any user create a long-life API token in about a minute. Connect that token to Carly, add the Carly connector to Claude, and your matters, leads, tasks and time are in the chat.

Where Lawcus stands with Claude

As of October 16, 2026, there’s no Lawcus connector in Claude and no official Lawcus MCP server.

The Lawcus API is broad. It reads and writes contacts, matters, leads, tasks, interactions, time entries, expenses and flat-fee entries, and it can convert a lead into a matter. Lawcus offers two ways in: an OAuth app you request from the Lawcus team, built for software companies, and a long-life token tied to one user’s account. The token is the one you want. It never expires until you revoke it.

How to connect Lawcus to Claude through Carly

  1. Create a long-life token. In Lawcus, click your profile icon, go to Settings → API Tokens and click Add. Name it, set the type to API long-life token, and copy it. It’s shown in full only once.
  2. Connect Lawcus in Carly. In Carly, go to Integrations → Connect an API and connect Lawcus there.
  3. Add Carly to Claude. Click Get the Carly connector, then Connect, and sign in.
  4. Ask Claude about your practice. It answers through the Carly connector with live Lawcus data.

Want to limit what it can touch? The token carries the permissions of the user who made it. Under Manage your organization → Roles and Permissions, create a role with only the areas you want (say, matters and contacts), give it to a dedicated user, and create the token while signed in as that user.

What Claude can do with Lawcus once Carly is in

  • “List this week’s new leads and the practice area each one asked about.”
  • “What tasks are due on the Thompson divorce matter before Friday?”
  • “How much time did Josh log on the Carter estate this month?”
  • “Convert the Bennett lead to a matter and add a task to send the engagement letter.”

With your Gmail or Outlook and your calendar connected in Carly too, Claude can turn a consultation request email into a lead and a booked meeting in one step.

Where Claude stops

Claude answers when you ask. Its scheduled tasks run on a clock, and nothing in Lawcus can start one. A consultation request at 9pm, a deadline task coming due, an attorney who hasn’t logged time since Tuesday: all of it waits for someone to open a chat.

Carly handles those, in the cloud, on a schedule you set or when an email comes in:

  • When a consultation request lands in your inbox, create the lead in Lawcus, offer the prospect times from your calendar, and book the one they pick.
  • Every morning at 7:30, email each attorney the Lawcus tasks due today across all their matters.
  • Every Friday at 3, check who logged fewer than 20 hours this week and send them a reminder before the weekend.
  • When a client emails about their matter, pull the matter’s recent tasks and interactions and draft the status update for you to approve.

Carly connects to thousands of apps, so the same workflow can check that the retainer cleared in LawPay, file the signed engagement letter in Google Drive, or post a new-matter alert to the firm’s Slack. You set it up in plain English. Routine steps run as free Zapier-style workflows; work that needs judgment runs as an AI agent. Free Zapier-style workflows; AI agents from $35/month. FAQ

Does Claude work with Lawcus?

Not directly. Lawcus has no Claude connector and no official MCP server. Connect Lawcus to Carly with a long-life API token, add the Carly connector to Claude, and Claude can work with your Lawcus data.

Where do I create a Lawcus API token?

Profile icon → Settings → API Tokens → Add, with the type set to API long-life token. Copy it right away, because Lawcus shows it in full only once.

Does the Lawcus token expire?

No. A long-life token stays valid until it’s revoked. You can delete your own tokens from the same screen, and organization owners can see and revoke every token in the firm.

Can Carly add new leads to Lawcus automatically?

Yes. When a consultation request arrives by email, Carly creates the lead in Lawcus and offers the prospect times to meet, with your laptop closed.

See what people say

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
