Connect Multiple Email Accounts to Grok
Grok’s mail connectors authorize one signed-in identity each, one Google account and one Microsoft mailbox, and Carly is how the rest of your addresses get into the same conversation. Connect every mailbox to Carly, add Carly to Grok once as a custom connector, and a single chat can search or act in whichever inbox you name, Google or Microsoft.
1. Add your Gmail and Outlook mailboxes to Carly
- Sign in at carlyassistant.com.
- Open carlyassistant.com/integrations.
- Find Gmail and Outlook, click Connect, and authorize the mailbox.
- Click Connect again for the next one, and keep going for as many mailboxes as you want.
A Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 account may need administrator review, and tenants approve independently, so one company declining leaves the others working. Carly also accepts personal Outlook.com addresses, the case Grok’s own Microsoft connector excludes.

2. Add Carly to Grok as a custom connector
- Go to grok.com/connectors.
- Click New Connector, then select Custom.
- Enter the MCP server URL
https://carlyassistant.com/mcp/. - Complete the authentication step.
- Sign in to the Carly account holding your mailboxes.
xAI’s connectors documentation says Grok discovers the tools your MCP server exposes “just like the built-in and catalog connectors,” provided the server is reachable over the public internet. Carly’s hosted endpoint already is, so no tunnel is involved. On Grok Business and Enterprise a team admin provisions the connector in the cloud console first.

Nothing is merged. Each mailbox keeps its own authorization, and every one of them stays individually addressable by its full address.
Why a second sign-in does not get you there
Grok’s mail plugins hold one account apiece, so signing in again swaps the mailbox rather than adding it. It is not alone in that:
The built-in connectors hold one account per provider. Claude and Gemini each authorize a single Google identity, and connecting a second one replaces the first rather than adding to it. Switching inboxes means disconnecting and reauthorizing, which is why personal and work is still two sessions rather than one. Carly holds all of them at once.
What Grok’s built-in connectors do cover
Give the native path its due: Gmail and Outlook are separate connectors, so one Google inbox beside one Microsoft mailbox is a genuine Grok setup, and the Microsoft side is capable from the first sign-in. It searches, reads bodies and attachments, drafts, sends, replies-all, forwards and moves messages between folders. The Gmail side reads on the base scope and gains gmail.modify and gmail.send as write and send tools are enabled.
The break comes at the third address. A second Microsoft tenant, a second Google Workspace, a personal Outlook.com address, or a client mailbox you were added to are all outside one delegated sign-in, and that is where the connector stops rather than where the work does.
Unattended runs break at a different place.
Grok's Automations run on a schedule for everyone, and on SuperGrok they also fire when an incoming email matches a sender, recipient, or subject filter. That is the whole trigger vocabulary: a clock, or an email. Nothing starts because a deal moved, a form came in, or a file landed. An email trigger looks like account routing and is not. xAI does not say which mailbox is watched when several mail connectors exist, and email triggers sit on SuperGrok while schedules are open to everyone. Carly’s routing is the part that keeps working after the chat window closes.
