How to Connect Multiple Outlook Accounts to Perplexity
Perplexity’s Outlook connector queries one mailbox, and it cannot send mail yet at all. Carly holds each Outlook identity as a separate connection and exposes them through one custom connector, which covers both the account count and the missing write actions.
What Perplexity’s Outlook connector actually does
The Outlook.com connector, last updated July 16, 2026, lets you “query Outlook.com and Outlook on the Web email messages and calendar events directly from Perplexity.” Setup is Settings → Connectors → Outlook.com → Enable, then a Microsoft sign-in and a permission grant.
Two limits are stated outright, and both are easy to miss:
- Calendars. “Currently, the Outlook.com Connector can only query one primary calendar. Querying multiple or secondary calendars is not possible.”
- Sending. “In the future, you will be able to send emails or create calendar events directly from Perplexity and Comet.” Today it is query-only on the Outlook side.
That second one is the surprise. The connector requests broad permissions at authorization, including “Send mail as you” and “Have full access to your calendars,” yet the documented experience is querying. A granted permission is not an exposed action, and Perplexity’s own help text is what settles it.
This is also where Outlook differs from Perplexity’s Gmail connector, where Comet does document sending. If you have read that Perplexity can send mail, it was probably about Gmail.
What is known about multiple accounts
Perplexity does not publish a per-connector account limit or a second-mailbox setup flow, and the help center never says whether a second authorization is added, rejected, or substituted for the first. Treat the native multi-account behavior as undocumented rather than as a tested promise.
The connector is also personal by design: “Connecting Perplexity to your Outlook.com account is done at a personal level,” so nobody else in your organization can query your inbox. Useful for privacy, and it means the account you connect is the account you get.
Connectors are a paid feature. Perplexity lists connector availability on Pro, Max, Enterprise Pro, and Enterprise Max rather than Free, and Enterprise members may need admin approval before Perplexity can reach an organization’s Outlook account.

2. Connect every Outlook account to Carly

Because the native connector cannot write, read-only testing here is about attribution rather than safety. Confirm every answer names its source mailbox before you rely on it.
