Several personal and work Gmail accounts reaching one ChatGPT conversation

Can ChatGPT Connect to Multiple Gmail Accounts?

No, ChatGPT cannot connect to multiple Gmail accounts. Its Gmail connector authorizes a single Google account, and connecting a second one takes the first one’s place, along with that account’s Calendar and Drive.

You can still run every Gmail account through ChatGPT. Connect the inboxes to Carly, add Carly to ChatGPT once, and a single chat works across all of them.

Do this instead

  1. Connect each Gmail address at carlyassistant.com/integrations. Personal, work, client, however many you have.
  2. In ChatGPT, open Settings → Apps & Connectors, add a connector, and paste https://carlyassistant.com/mcp/.
  3. Name the account you want:

Draft a reply from josh@peakline.com to the newest thread from the Varonex team. Do not send it yet.

That is it. Start free at carlyassistant.com.

Why switching accounts is not the same thing

Signing out of one Google account and authorizing another gives you the inboxes one at a time. It never gives you a chat that holds both, so the questions worth asking stay out of reach: one sender across every address you own, a briefing grouped by company, a client thread checked against your own records.

Worse, the swap is silent. Ask “find every invoice from last month” and ChatGPT answers confidently from the one account it can see, with no hint that half your mail was never searched.

The built-in connectors hold one account per provider. ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini each authorize a single Google identity, and connecting a second one replaces the first rather than adding to it. Switching inboxes means disconnecting and reauthorizing, which is why personal and work is still two sessions rather than one. Carly holds both at once.

What Carly adds on top

  • Every inbox in one question. Personal Gmail, two work domains and a client account in the same chat.
  • Outlook sits beside Gmail. One connection covers both providers and every calendar.
  • Shared mailboxes are real mailboxes. A team inbox like billing@ connects on its own and Carly replies from it.
  • Attachments go out. ChatGPT sends from a connected Gmail on paid plans, with a confirmation each time and no attachments. Carly sends with them.
  • Mail arriving starts the work. Carly’s agents have their own name and email address, so a client can write in directly instead of waiting for you to open a chat.
  • The rest of your stack is reachable. Carly connects to thousands of apps.

Frequently asked questions

Can I connect multiple Gmail accounts to ChatGPT?

Not with OpenAI’s Gmail connector, which authorizes one Google account at a time. Connect them all to Carly, add Carly to ChatGPT once, and one chat reaches every inbox.

Can I add 2 Gmail accounts to ChatGPT?

Two runs into the same wall as ten. The second authorization replaces the first rather than joining it. Carly holds both side by side.

Can I connect multiple emails to ChatGPT?

Yes, through Carly, and they do not have to be Gmail. The same Carly account holds Outlook and Microsoft 365 mailboxes, so a mixed setup is one connection instead of two ceilings.

Does ChatGPT Work change this?

No. Work uses the same one-account-per-provider connector model. See connecting multiple Gmail accounts to ChatGPT Work.

Will ChatGPT tell me which account it used?

Through Carly, yes. Every action names its source address, which is what makes an answer that spans accounts worth trusting.

See what people say

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
