Can Perplexity Connect to Multiple Outlook Accounts?
Not in any way Perplexity documents. Its Outlook connector is a single connection with no flow for adding a second Microsoft account. It reads your mail and your primary calendar, and Perplexity says sending email and creating events will come “in the future.”
With Carly, Perplexity gets all of them. Add the Carly connector in Perplexity and it works across all of your Outlook accounts at once, sending included.
Do this instead
- Connect every Outlook mailbox at carlyassistant.com/integrations: work accounts, personal Outlook.com, client mailboxes, and your Gmail accounts if you have them.
- In Perplexity, open Plugins in the sidebar (or Customize → Connectors if you don’t see Plugins yet), then Add custom → Connector → Add MCP connector. Choose Remote, name it Carly, enter
https://carlyassistant.com/mcp/, pick OAuth, check the box and click Add. Click the Carly card to sign in. - Ask across all of them at once:
Check all my Outlook inboxes for anything about the Microsoft renewal and draft replies to whatever still needs one.
That is the whole setup. Get started at carlyassistant.com.
What Perplexity’s Outlook connector does today
Perplexity’s help article for the Outlook.com connector describes a reader. You can “query Outlook.com and Outlook on the Web email messages and calendar events,” and that is the job. Three limits sit underneath it:
| Perplexity on its own | Perplexity + Carly | |
|---|---|---|
| Outlook accounts at once | One, no second-account flow | All of them |
| Send email | ”In the future” | Yes, attachments included |
| Create calendar events | ”In the future” | Yes |
| Secondary calendars | ”Not possible” | Every calendar on both sides |
| Gmail in the same question | Separate connector | Yes |
| Works when no chat is open | No | Yes |
The odd part is the sign-in screen. The connector asks for send permissions when you authorize it, then won’t send. Through Carly the reply goes out from the mailbox the thread lives in.
An answer from one mailbox looks like an answer from all of them
Perplexity never says whether a second Outlook sign-in is added, refused or quietly swapped in for the first, and the reply gives no hint either. Ask which invoices are still unpaid and you get a confident list from the one mailbox it holds, while reminders in every other mailbox never make it in.
A research tool can get away with one source. An inbox question can’t, because the work is spread across every address you use.
What you can automate across all of them
Carly also works your mailboxes when nobody is asking. These run across every Outlook account you connect, and Gmail too:
- Text me when an urgent email arrives. A real person waiting on you, a deadline or money on the line sends a text to your phone.
- Sort every email into your Outlook categories or folders. Carly follows your rules the same way every time, and anything it is unsure about stays where it is. Nothing is deleted.
- Draft replies to the emails that need you. Carly reads the full thread and saves a reply in your voice to Drafts. Automated mail is skipped.
- Book meetings across every calendar. A client asks for a time and Carly checks all of your calendars, not just the primary one, before it offers slots.
- Chase the threads that went quiet and draft the follow-up each weekday morning.
- Log every inbound email to a sheet with sender, subject, category and a one-line summary.
Carly connects to thousands of apps, so the far end of any automation can be a tool you already pay for. Browse more at carlyassistant.com/workflows.

Frequently asked questions
Can I connect two Outlook accounts to Perplexity?
Perplexity publishes no way to add a second Microsoft account to its Outlook connector and doesn’t say what happens if you try. Connect both to Carly, add the Carly connector once, and one question reaches them together.
Can Perplexity send email from Outlook?
Not through its own connector yet. Perplexity’s help center lists sending email and creating calendar events as future functionality. Through Carly, Perplexity can send, reply and forward from any connected mailbox.
Does Perplexity read secondary Outlook calendars?
Its help article says querying multiple or secondary calendars “is not possible.” Carly connects every calendar on your Microsoft and Google accounts and checks all of them before booking.
Where do I add a custom connector in Perplexity?
Under Plugins in the sidebar, or Customize → Connectors on accounts that don’t show Plugins yet, then Add custom → Connector. In an Enterprise organization an admin may need to allow custom connectors first.
How many Outlook accounts can Carly hold?
As many as you connect at carlyassistant.com/integrations, personal and work, plus Gmail on the same page.

See what people say
"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
