An inbox sorted into neat stacks by an AI assistant working alongside Grok Bot

Can Grok Bot Manage My Email?

Partly. Grok Bot can search, read, label, draft and send in the one Gmail mailbox or Outlook account you connect, and a Bot can now claim an address of its own at mail.grokbot.com. It won’t run your inbox while you’re away. Nothing it writes goes out until you press Send, and new mail in your own Gmail or Outlook isn’t one of the events Cursor documents as starting a routine.

Carly is how Grok Bot actually runs your inbox. Carly sorts, labels, drafts, sends and follows up in every inbox you own, by your rules, and Grok Bot drives all of it through the Carly connector.

Hand Grok Bot the inbox, with Carly doing the work

Tell Grok Bot what you want once. Carly keeps doing it:

  • Every new email sorted on arrival, into your labels and categories.
  • Follow-ups that run off a list, not the Bot’s sense of what seems important, and stop when someone answers.
  • Replies sent without the approval queue, for the senders and topics you allow.
  • An agent address people can CC, that acts on what it receives.
  • A text to your phone when an email can’t wait.
  • Anything downstream. Carly connects to thousands of apps, so an email becomes a task, a CRM update or a filed attachment.

Cursor’s help lists the events that can start a routine: a schedule, Slack, GitHub, Linear, Sentry, PagerDuty, a webhook call, and mail sent to the Bot’s own address. Your existing inbox isn’t on the list.

What the grokbot.com address can do

  • Receive, read, search and send from an address like yourname@mail.grokbot.com.
  • Start a routine on new mail from anyone, from specific senders, or from a whole domain. It can’t filter by subject.
  • Draft, never send on its own. “Asking your Bot in chat, or putting the instruction in a routine, doesn’t skip approval.”
  • One address, for good. You can’t rename or delete it, and every Bot you own shares it.
  • No inbox view. There are no notifications for new mail, so you ask the Bot what arrived.

That makes it good for receipts, sign-ups and newsletters. It isn’t your inbox. The clients, suppliers and colleagues who write to your real address never reach it.

Set it up in Grok Bot

  1. Connect every inbox at carlyassistant.com/integrations, Gmail and Outlook, personal and work.
  2. In a chat with your Bot, send this message: Confirm the details it reads back, then click Authorize and sign in to Carly.
  3. Turn on the automations you want, from Grok Bot or at carlyassistant.com/workflows:

Set up a Carly workflow that labels every new email in all my inboxes as Client, Supplier, Bill or FYI, drafts a reply to anything from a client, and texts me if a client says it’s urgent.

Frequently asked questions

Can Grok Bot reply to emails automatically?

No. Cursor’s help says every email waits as a draft until you press Send, including replies a routine writes, and there’s no setting to change that. Carly sends the replies you’ve allowed on its own and leaves the rest in Drafts.

What is mail.grokbot.com?

The domain for Grok Bot’s agent email. You claim one address, your Bots share it, and they can read and send from it with your approval. On a Cursor team, an admin has to turn agent email on first.

Can Grok Bot label my Gmail?

Yes, in the one mailbox you connect, when you ask in a chat or on a schedule you set. Carly labels every email as it arrives, in every inbox you own.

Can Grok Bot manage more than one inbox?

Not through its own plugins, which hold one Gmail mailbox and one Outlook account. See Can Grok Bot connect to multiple email accounts?

Can my team email or text my Grok Bot?

Anyone can email a grokbot.com address, but replies wait for your approval, and Cursor’s help documents no number to text. See Can my team use Grok Bot?

See what people say

"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.

Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.

On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
