Can Grok Bot Connect to Multiple Outlook Accounts?
Not in any way Cursor documents. Grok Bot’s Outlook plugin works in “the signed-in Microsoft account,” and Cursor’s help lists a second-account option only for plugins that show an Add Another Account button, like Notion. Outlook isn’t among them, and Gmail is ruled out by name.
Carly gives Grok Bot every Outlook mailbox you have. Add the Carly connector once and each Bot works across all of your Microsoft 365 companies and personal Outlook.com at once.
What changes for Outlook once Carly is connected
The Bot you already use, now reaching every Microsoft account:
- Mailboxes from every company, together, plus personal Outlook.com and Hotmail.
- Your Outlook categories and folders, applied by your rules to every message.
- Shared mailboxes that reply as themselves. Mail to
billing@gets answered frombilling@. - Every calendar checked before a booking, Outlook and Google alike.
- Workflows that start on new Outlook mail, with no Bot open.
- Phone, text and thousands of apps. Carly texts you, answers your business line, and connects to thousands of apps like SharePoint, QuickBooks and Asana.
Do this instead
- Connect every Outlook mailbox at carlyassistant.com/integrations: each Microsoft 365 company you work with, personal Outlook.com, and your Gmail accounts too.
- In a chat with your Bot, send this message: Confirm the details it reads back, then click Authorize and sign in to Carly.
- Ask across all of them at once:
Check all my Outlook mailboxes for anything about the Salesforce renewal and tell me which threads still need a reply today.
That is the whole setup. Get started at carlyassistant.com.
What the Outlook plugin holds
Cursor added Outlook, Outlook Calendar and OneDrive plugins on August 27, 2026, built on its own Microsoft server. Each one asks you to sign in with Microsoft and then works inside that account: search folders, read, send and look up contacts.
Two things follow from how Grok Bot plugins work. The help page says “an installed plugin is available to every bot on that Grok Bot account,” so the one mailbox you connect is shared by every Bot you run. And Microsoft tenants are strict. A company that restricts third-party apps needs an admin to consent before the sign-in finishes, and a Cursor forum thread collects teams whose admins approved Grok more than once and still landed back on the permission screen.
| Grok Bot’s Outlook plugin | Carly connector | |
|---|---|---|
| Outlook accounts at once | The signed-in account | All of them |
| Mailboxes from two companies | One at a time | Together |
| Personal Outlook.com beside work | No documented way | Yes |
| Gmail in the same question | Separate Gmail plugin, one mailbox | Yes |
Shared mailboxes like billing@ | Not documented | Yes, as their own mailbox |
| Work starts when new mail lands in your Outlook | Not a documented routine trigger | Yes, in every mailbox |
Signing Outlook into the Bot’s browser is the trap
Before the plugin existed, the documented route was to have a Bot open Outlook on the web and sign in there. People who still do it for a second mailbox run into the same problems early users did. Sessions drop mid-task. Some users report being signed out of Microsoft on their own machine. One user’s Microsoft 365 account was locked after the same credentials showed up on a cloud server and his PC at once, which is exactly what a tenant’s security is built to catch.
So the second mailbox isn’t just inconvenient. Done through the browser, it’s the one that gets your IT team’s attention. Through Carly each mailbox is an ordinary authorized connection that the tenant expects.
What you can automate across all of them
Carly works your mailboxes when no Bot is running. These run in every Outlook account you connect, and Gmail too:
- Text me when an urgent email arrives. A real person waiting on you, a deadline or money sends a text to your phone.
- Sort every email into your Outlook categories or folders. Carly follows your rules the same way every time and leaves anything it is unsure about alone. Nothing is deleted.
- Draft replies to the emails that need you, saved to Drafts in your voice.
- Get a morning brief across every mailbox, grouped by account.
- Book meetings across every calendar. Carly checks all of your Outlook and Google calendars before it offers a time.
- Turn mail into tasks in Microsoft To Do, Planner, Asana or ClickUp.
Carly connects to thousands of apps, so the far end of any automation can be a tool you already pay for. Browse more at carlyassistant.com/workflows.

Frequently asked questions
Can I connect two Outlook accounts to Grok Bot?
Cursor documents no way to do it. The Outlook plugin works in the signed-in Microsoft account, and the second-account button Cursor describes is for plugins like Notion. Connect every mailbox to Carly and add the Carly connector once, and every Bot reaches all of them.
Will my Microsoft 365 admin need to approve this?
Possibly, for the plugin and for Carly alike. Managed tenants often require an administrator to consent before an app can reach a mailbox. Each company approves on its own, and the Carly team can handle the admin request with you.
Do separate Bots keep my mailboxes apart?
No. Plugins are installed at the Grok Bot account level and every Bot can use them. Use Grok Bot’s approval rules for any send you want to see before it goes out.
How do I add a custom connector to Grok Bot?
Ask for it in the chat. Cursor’s support team says Grok Bot sets up custom connectors from the conversation: send “Add this MCP server:” with the address, confirm, and authorize. Carly’s address is https://carlyassistant.com/mcp.
Can I mix Outlook and Gmail accounts?
Yes, through Carly. Grok Bot’s Gmail plugin also holds one mailbox at a time, as covered in Can Grok Bot connect to multiple Gmail accounts? Carly connects both providers on one page.

See what people say
"Before Carly, I relied on a Calendly link, but the whole process felt impersonal and not very professional. Carly changed that by handling all the back-and-forth, so I'm no longer stuck in endless email threads trying to line up schedules.
Now Carly reaches out to candidates, shares my real-time availability, lets them pick a slot, then sends a Zoom link and drops it straight into my calendar. She sends reminders to both of us before each call, which has significantly reduced no-shows and last-minute confusion.
On top of scheduling, Carly acts like a full executive assistant, sending me my schedule the night before so I can prepare for each call. It reminds me of the old x.ai assistant, but Carly is noticeably smarter, faster, and better suited to my healthcare recruitment business."
